The tech guy is partying with the Persians. Drinks, maybe some weed and a bit of coke. It is a Monday afterall; Molly is for weekend nights.
The sister and her plastic surgeon husband have recently had martial issues. So there’s already a simmering problem. Tech guy starts paying a little too much attention to the sister. Maybe some flirtatious banter between the two in front of her brother & husband. There are likely other people around, so it’s a group gathering.
Husband gets jealous and asks the brother to say something to the tech guy. The scene escalates and they get into a heated argument in front of everyone. Tech guy insists he meant no disrespect, he was just enjoying conversation. In all likelihood, he likely did nothing wrong.
Doctor husband says it’s late and it’s better if everyone leaves. Hothead brother offers tech guy a ride. So now these two inebriated fools are in a car together, the argument keeps going. The sister sends the text to tech guy, apologizing for her mouthy brother. But by then the situation has already escalated into murder.
Except Lee has known this woman for THREE YEARS. There’s no way he’s hanging around with them like that without getting… something.
So? I have lots of platonic friends of the opposite sex. We all run in the same 3-4 overlapping friend circles. He wasn’t hanging out one-on-one with the woman last night. It was clearly a group gathering with booze and probably some party supplies.
This isn’t that uncommon among wealthier people in their 30s without kids in big cities

How did the wife of a doctor even end up in his party circle? Doesn’t she have kids?
She doesn’t, and they could have met via her brother

Momani and his sister had a good cop/bad cop routine going to try to force Lee's hand. Momani grilled Lee about his intentions so that the sister could keep her hands clean.
Here's the text from Momani's sister to Lee: "Just wanted to make sure your doing OK because I know Nima came wayyy down hard on you and thank you for being such a classy man handling it with class
Love you Selfish prik**s."

Disagree. It’s not in the culture. He isn’t seen as a good match for her. She probably wanted to have fun (maybe just get drunk and/or high) and the family wasn’t happy and saw Bob as someone discrediting/taking advantage of the woman
We agree that the family was likely mad that Lee was taking advantage of her--but not because Lee was a "bad match." Momani is a tech wannabe who likely worships big tech bros. He probably would have been thrilled if Lee had been interested in committing, but he wasn't. Meanwhile, the plastic surgeon DH, who may be bankrolling both of them, is threatening to leave. ("The marriage was in jeopardy.") Momani is a loose cannon and hearing Bob tell him that his sister was just a quick lay may have been the last straw.
The plastic surgeon husband
Where did you see marriage in jeopardy??
It was in a witness statement in court docs.
When ex-wife recognized name, wonder if she had work done by doc, met wife in office, and that is how Bob met her? His phone contacts indicated that he knew the brother through her.

He was about to go back to Miami, had he not extended his trip he would be alive.
His ex wife said the name is familiar so he may have known the sister/brother for a while.
It’s not a midlife crisis cautionary tale, it’s a cultural awareness cautionary tale

Ugh. What a pointless end to a life.
Stabber seems to have some issues, long-term alcohol problem, etc. and some fake credentials. Not sure where sister's husband figures in all of this?
Well if Nina saw Bob seducing away his sister from her family, especially plying her with drugs, I could see why he might act rashly.
But I can’t really square the family man from St Louis being THIS depraved. An affair with a married woman? Supplying the drugs rather than just using?

I thought for sure that Bob Lee got whacked by some cryptocurrency gangsters, or a bankrupt scam victim who was conned by crypto.
Funny how things actually work out.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Why did the sister's husband show up to court too?
To make it look like she’s honorable.
Wouldn't be be embarrassed re: public cuck rumors?
