It definitely jumped out, but I don't care for the look. He's good looking though, so it passes.

This kind of caught my eye though. Paul Dano at the Oscars. Still kind of traditional, but with a twist.

Jenny Slate. She looks great -- this is a great neckline for her and she really shines in black with her hair up. It doesn't feel boring to me even though it's pretty basic.

Was she not at the ceremony? Marcel the Shell was nominated and pretty sure she's a producer (plus created and voiced the main character).

That's the same feeling I had when I saw this. Something is off about this. She looks better in her workday sheath dresses.

Nancy Pelosi. It's always jarring to see "normals" at these events (meaning non-Hollywood people) wearing designer clothes because they don't get the same level of care in dress selection and fittings and you realize how much goes into making the Hollywood actresses look absolutely perfect. It's not just about picking a dress, it's about having it fitted, hemmed, accessorized perfectly. It's the difference between being the bride and being some random guest at a wedding, in terms of preparation for the event.

Stephanie Hsu. I liked her awards dress (big strapless pink ballgown) but she looks so much more like herself in a good way here. I love her hair this texture as it really plays up her facial features.

Emily Ratajkowski doing her thing. I like the color of this and attached half-gloves, I wish that either it wasn't completely sheer or that she'd chosen to wear something else underneath -- it just looks like a pair of 80s era high cut bikinis in beige. I'm sure it's a thong and that everyone got to stare at her butt all night, though, which seems reasonable as she has a very, very good looking butt.

I don't love that dress, and I actually sort of loved her clothes in White Lotus (I'm not Gen Z so maybe the clothes didn't feel like a personal attack to me!).

If you're interested in her work, check out the movie After Yang. She had a smallish role and was great.

Julia Garner in Off White at the after party. Weird but she looks great. She loooooves doing weird conceptual fashion and vamping on the red carpet and, actually, I love it for her. Living her best life.

Angela Bassett at the after party. Lady should have won her category, she still looks better than 99.9% of the people at these things even with the giant bow over her crotch.
