Just stop. You have no idea what you are talking about. School are not fortresses with highly trained professional guards. This is a a problem of guns and ammo access. Texas has no restrictions on weapons or ammo. The problem is everyone who will vote republicans in fall.

Well I don't think it stops automatically but certainly the right thing to do and a good start. It's everything that adds up to someone doing this. It's anger and hurt and the ease of shooting up people. Limiting sale of legit guns is a place to start but do you know how easy it is to still get one? It's both limiting access and culturally working to mitigate the behavior. It's both to be fair, it's not just guns but of course it would curb a lot of other situations where people are hurt needlessly.

Mentally ill and disabled children are FAR FAR likelier to be harmed by others than harm other people.

In this case, the good guys with guns killed the gunman. Why there was not one resource officer at the actual school is a whole other issue. How did he get in?


One resource officer against a mentally unstable shooter with ARs? Who do you think is going to survive that one?


Multiple law enforcement officers did everything they possibly could today and what is the death toll still up to?

My greatest fear is that it will become all of us who must have a gun because too many do. People are really dumb so having a gun is totally unsafe. 400M guns makes buyback program pessimistic. It's a question of when not if things get so out of control living in US is terrifyingly unsafe. As in living in El Salvador or another place where high crime is rampant. Again everyone will then need a gun which is not exactly comforting because people will still not know how to shoot.

Yep that is working well in the Ukraine. No one gets killed when everyone is armed to the teeth. There is no “friendly fire” or civilians killed. Just the “bad guy” gun owner who was the hero of the republicans yesterday.
