There was nothing significant about the positions. They died where they were, there was enough support to keep them upright until rigor mortis started setting in. No wind, no movement, the bodies just stayed put. And maybe the environmental conditions play into rigor mortis process.

There was enough to test for toxins. Practically empty might be more correct.

I think this is right, can anyone speak to CA law specifically?

Looks like it will be HS by process of elimination at this point. Why would the family not want that released? And which family's wishes would control? I believe the Sheriff's Office will make an announcement.

In the meantime, there are some interesting comments on the SO FB page re: close calls others have had on the Savage Lundy trail in heat.
