Battlefield was out coached and outplayed.
In my opinion, Oakton let battlefield back in the game by slowing it down. Didn’t want to totally demoralize the young girls. Gave them some hope for NEXT YEAR!
Next year…because Oakton is State Champions this year… one goal or ten goals! I believe it’s still the one with the most.
pressing question - if Choketon is the greatest team, and is loaded with seniors (one senior and a chorus line), why didn't they win States the past three years? Same All-World player(s)...? And I loved the stall techique. Coward Lacrosse at its best.
The comments about stalling from Battlefield posters, guessing it’s really just the one poster who calls everyone an idiot when stating an opposing position, is an interesting one.
In an odd way, while criticizing the approach you are actually confirming Oakton was a solid team. It is hard to play keep away for the amount of time mentioned. So, either the Oakton players were really skilled at possessing the ball or Battlefield was really poor at pressuring the ball and causing turnovers.
If Battlefield was more athletic and quicker they should have had no trouble causing turnovers.
