Union will do just fine on the girl’s side. The boys will be more of the same.

Seems rosters will not be so extensive after all. Several players are getting rejected.

This is all crap. Sure a few players leaving — those who complained all year about not enough playing time and maybe one or two who chose to leave. Normal changes as seen every year.

Good Braves added to strong VU starting players, plus a few external to the clubs. Yes, the loss of some strong sub players (sorry and sad to see these good players not make the cut). Decisions seem based on skills and not allegiances. Teams all looking pretty good and rosters not overly large (normal VU size). Coaches working hard to make a transition that should have been worked out months earlier.

Stop trying to use this forum to create rumor, stir the pot, and influence player decisions. Those still deciding — sign on or go elsewhere and enjoy. See you on the pitch.

This is directionally correct. What parent can comment on who did and did not make the cut across multiple age groups or even how decisions were made unless it is really a coach. What parent even has any idea on how the coaches are working hard to make a transition. Spin mode at max speed here.

I don’t know what bitter parent (or former VDA coach?) wrote this, but for all the other actual parents out there, the idea that the club will look “alot [sic] like Arlington” is what we should want. This mythical “Elite” pathway he is talking about doesn’t (yet) exist, and even if your child is “elite”, getting a degree from an “academic” school is exactly what you should be aiming for. Why? Because the pay is terrible for women right now, and the USMNT has a track record of no turnover. Think of it, if you were a wingback or a forward, national team spots were held by the same player for nearly TWO DECADES. Megan Rapinoe got her youth call up in 2002, and her senior call up in 2006. So for nearly 18 years, there was no opening. Alex Morgan? Same kind of timeframe.

Right now in the DC area, you can get one on one training with multiple former US and Canadian women’s national team members. That’s right, these ultimate elite players still have to find jobs after anchoring their countries in Olympics and world cups.

So as an FVU parent, I would LOVE to see it all go the way of Arlington if that means playing a sport they love at their highest possible level, and then when it’s over they have a great degree to begin the next phase of their lives?? I can think of nothing more elite than that.
