Well... it worked last night and they rose above the street fight LB was looking for and good lacrosse prevailed. "Couple of lucky goals" got the job done effectively. The LB goalie played his heart out and made so many huge saves. Without him it could have been 20-2. Kudos to that kid.

If they know they can't fairly win a game, they play dirty and try to hurt their opponent. Their lacrosse coach should be ashamed of himself. In fact their entire athletic department and principal should be. Poor dirty losers.

I would agree with pp though lacrosse peaked as a whole in NOVA about 10ish years ago. Easiest metric is probably the amount of D1 commits there were and the level of programs they were going to. Still a few teams that have a guy or two that are legit. Not much depth though and a lot of very bad teams.
Still a lot of fun competitive games and the effort is still as good as ever. Still really enjoy watching every spring. Thankful for all the refs and coaches keeping it going.
I’m same age, played same timeframe. Public school teams today would annihilate good teams I remember from 25yrs ago. This argument that teams 10yrs ago are better because they had more D1 commits…yeah US Lacrosse was also 35% smaller nationwide and the number of D1 schools hasn’t significantly changed. More high schools, more kids play hs today, more kids play club and are across the board as a group more talented, teams today are generally better than they were 10yrs ago. Perhaps privates are pulling more in and stashing guys on rosters but I don’t buy that Nova lacrosse is worse today than 10yrs ago. There is just a lot more competition nationwide for D1’s exceedingly small roster space, if that’s your yardstick.

You can call me crazy all you want, but this is going to be the game of the year so far. Braddock has an elite defense and offense. They will shut down that slow, methodical play of Robo.
Score Prediction: 10-9 Braddock

Another couple of lucky goals, I guess?
