Great deal for DC United. They “control” a super talented player for 4 years. I hope the family is strong enough to navigate it.

If my kid is not eligible for DCU, please explain how I am envious when DCU has no documented blueprint to bring the kid up to the first team like all of the other MLS academies?

DCU management must be trolling this thread. Wishing the kid the best despite choosing DCU. If you have documentation to PROVE DCU is doing right by the kid, please provide it. We all know it is not.

I hope he is good enough to break through the first team and get to Europe like Parades.

I don’t know much about him but hope he is better than USL level to break into the first time or has a loan deal setup so he can play now and keep developing.

I will be rooting for the kid regardless.

Wish I could pick his parents brain about their decision to sign with DCU, given the state that they are in. Signing with them means they own their kid for the next 4+ years. On every academy besides DCU, you sign and play on their second team. Where do signed DCU kids go? Might as well have tried out for USL teams and sign with them for the 2 years, then set eyes towards Europe with no one owning your rights.

How does that work? They cut ties with Loudoun, they don't have a second team, and he's definitely not playing with the first team. Where do signed kids play? Do they just get loaned out to USL teams to develop?

If your club is playing your son up because he is physically developed but he has weak fundamentals don't be excited by this prospect...ask the club why are they playing him up when he needs to work on his fundamentals.. Relying on size at young ages while neglecting your fundamentals is death to the player as they get older..
