Definitely too much of a coincidence here. I mean the first day the parents arrive at the reserve, Brian’s possessions and possibly remains are found the same morning?????
I smell a rat.
The parents likely knew where he was and were hoping that he was living in the reserve. However after so many weeks of him missing they probably thought the worst and decided to personally trek out to the reserve so they could participate in the search and hopefully find him alive.
It appears he was indeed where he claimed he would be, but sadly for his parents he likely killed himself there. They probably knew that if he were alive, then the FBI would have found him by now. After five weeks had passed they came to the conclusion that he likely was deceased and this morning went out to the Carlton Reserve to prove their suspicions correct.
Y’all are awful. They had been directing the cops to this area since September 17. It was underwater though. Chris was literally not allowed to go to the area and help search because up until yesterday it was shut down to the public. They were told they couldn’t join. Cops let Chris join a couple times and both times he brought them to this same exact area- just didn’t find them those times. It’s not a coincidence. It’s literally just the first time he was able to freely go search on his own.

I am so relieved a corpse has been found.
Weird sentence.
Why? I’m glad too, assuming it’s Brian. No more $$ wasted on the manhunt, trial, or a lifetime of incarceration.
Very true.
But unfortunately for the Petito family, they will not get any answers regarding the death of Gabby.
Which I am sure they were hoping for.
This is so sad for them. 😢
what makes you say this, it's not like him being alive would guarantee answers anyway
Yes, I know.
However Brian was the last person to see Gabby alive and him and ONLY HIM could provide them the answers to their questions.
At the very least > at least a sliver of hope must have existed that they would get some much-needed answers.

Give it a rest. They just learned their son is dead. Did you watch the video? The father crying when he got the news? They didn’t know and they weren’t involved and they are grieving. They have been vilified based on zero evidence that they had any knowledge of what happened to Gabby or knowledge or role in Brain’s disappearance. It’s sick what people have been doing to these individuals without anything to substantiate the wild accusations.
While I agree that you have included many valid points, I still think that the parents should have spoken up in the beginning.
When Gabby’s family was calling the Laundries, inquiring where she was or what they actually knew, etc., I just find it cruel that they never responded back.
While hiring a lawyer + deciding against speaking publicly is their fundamental right - morally they should have responded to Gabby’s parents and let them know what they knew.
By doing this, they only made themselves look bad.
Of course it made them look bad, but it was the smart thing to do. It’s 100% what I would have advised my clients to do as well. we don’t know what Brian told them. He may have told them absolutely nothing. Remember, her body wasn’t even found until after Brian left. They may have had zero clue that was something wrong. Brian left only two days after she was announced missing- that could have been a complete shock to the parents who could have led to him feeing a need to flee. He could have played her disappearance off as something he has no idea about. We simply don’t know what they knew or thought.
They absolutely knew something was wrong. Their son drive out west with his live-in fiancé and drove home without her. Something was definitely wrong. Even if he said they broke up, they didn’t want to know where she was? They didn’t think anything of all the calls and texts from her parents asking if they had heard anything? They didn’t think to respond “well our kid is here, no clue where your kid is”??
Exactly. That’s what is so off about their behavior. Then the seemingly indifference about their missing son for weeks.
How would we know whether or not they are indifferent, or that they didn’t want to know where she was, or that he didn’t make up a story explaining everything away?
They didn't do a single press conference.
They didn't answer a single phone call from Gabby Petito's family.
They didn't post any messages anywhere on social media.
They didn't release a letter to a local or national news source.
Hell, they could have printed out a memo and tacked it to their garage door.
Instead they were silent. That's indifference.
They were excellent and smart clients. We run the narrative day in and day out that POC should never say a word and should immediately ask for an attorney if arrested or questioned be police; however, when a white couple exercises their constitutional rights and does exactly as they should, they are vilified? Wtf

This has bothered me for some time — we have absolutely no idea what they have and have not told the FBI. The speculation about whether they have cooperated (or not) is purely that — speculation.
I mean they raised an abuser who turned out to be a murderer and harbored a fugitive. And also didn't mention he was missing for days after he left? Give me a break. They should be held responsible for Gabby's death by the public court for the rest of their lives, and they will be.
You are speculating about all of this. It's frightening how fast the "Court of Public Opinion" makes judgments before they have heard any of the facts. The fact that the Laundries haven't spoken publicly is taken as evidence that every wild accusation against them is true. It may be that all of this is true. It may not be. What is so bad about waiting to hear from the Police? If the Police were to make a statement that the Laundrie's have been cooperating all along and were instrumental in finding Brian's remains (the latter appears to be the case), will you feel differently?
You better hope none of your children ever do anything wrong, since you seem to believe that the parents are always responsible for the sins of their children.
The "Police" in North Port haven't seemed like the brightest bulbs here...and yes, I definitely think they were instrumental in finding his remains. I think the theory floating around that they knew where he was hiding in the preserve and were hoping he was alive could be accurate. If they went to this spot themselves when it reopened to the public, found him, and then decided to 'lead' authorities to him to try and get the public/LE off their backs, it frankly makes more sense than deliberately stonewalling access to their child when his fiance who lived with them for a year plus was missing (and he came home in her van).
Why else wouldn't you report him missing right away? Other than to give him a head start? And how do you mix up the day he left?
Anonymous wrote:How weird that the same day the parents decided to go to the reserve is the same day that human remains along with Brian’s belongings are recovered. There are a lot of things that the public is not being told at this time.
I am guessing (what else can I do?) that the parents led the FBI to the human remains along with the backpack and notebook. They likely were contacted by Brian shortly prior to him killing himself of what he was going to do.
They could have been in denial this entire time, hoping that Brian had changed his mind and instead was living on the lam. However after so much time has passed without a sign of their son, they likely contacted authorities to be there in the event that Brian’s remains are where he told them he would be.
Anonymous wrote:Whatever story the parents told at the beginning, they can't back down from now or they'd put themselves in the frame for obstruction of justice and making false statements. Unless they are given immunity in exchange for revealing whatever Brian said to them in order to give Gabby's parents information, we'll probably never know.
Ultimately, none of it probably mattered. She was dead before anyone but Brian knew she was missing. And I would bet the autopsy will show that Brian killed himself pretty much immediately after he arrived in FL and disappeared again and there was no real chance to catch him alive. Hopefully the FBI doesn't go around shooting a bunch of alligators to try to find the one that probably ate a chunk of his remains. What would it help?

I do, in a sense. I believe that they did love each other, but everything went horribly wrong.
