Valor feeds fvu so of course valor would release him in this case. Last year we had to wait because of contracts for several coaches.

He announced he was coaching fvu over a month before Valor was kicked out of NVA and went begging to FVU.

False. Valor was not kicked out of NVA. They left because they wanted to stay ECNL.

What is their path to ECNL now? Won't it stop at RL?

Valor joined a million other teams to feed into FVU for ecnl

To you, 6=1,000,000?
With gross exaggerations like this, one would be stupid to believe anything posted by the haters.

They haven't posted anything.

I think they are just pushing the "lead coach" concept out as if that was sufficient information prior to tryouts, and pretending like it is normal not to actually list who the coaches of each team will be--because for whatever reason they can't hire decent coaches.

100%. They want people to think it’s not so important who the other coaches will be because the lead coach will be in charge of all the programming. Not so sure that’s true. They also don’t know how many teams they will have for each age group and hence don’t know how many coaches will need. If turnout is low for some age groups they might only need two teams. If it’s higher they will want to make as many teams as possible to make more money. A lot of clubs are like this to some extent, but those clubs at least have a set number of teams planned with coaches listed for each.

btw FVU is one of worse Clubs on boys side. And will be even worse this coming year. The girls side is not going to be able to save them. GM and TM need to be removed. And they need to have real tryouts.

There is no such list. It hasn’t been posted yet anywhere. It is a little weird because previous years they have posted full list of coaches, even if it was only a few days before the first tryout. I would email the director of coaching for whichever gender you’re interested in and ask them when they will be sharing that information. You could mention that you will not be bringing your child to tryouts if you don’t know who the coach will be. Not sure if they will care, but worth a try.

its a reasonable point. you can only take your dc to so many tryouts b/c they all happen in the same few weeks time. its highly irritating to waste your "tryout budget time" on a team that is a no-go due to a parent coach situation....

I don’t know every coach, but none of the ones I do know are coaching their own kid. Many of them are younger guys who don’t even have kids. I really doubt Valor would have a top team coach assigned to an age group where their own child plays. That is asking for a bad situation. It’s one thing if a coach’s own kid moves from a different coach’s fourth team to their own parent’s third team. It’s another if they were to move to their own parent’s top team. There’s always so much drama about who gets moved up and why. What coach would want to deal with even more of that?

So the 2015 girls gold coach for next year KO is NOT a parent coach?
This is such a dumb and tired argument. NVA’s TD is coaching his daughter next year. I am not advocating one way or another but my point is that it happens in select pockets. Most coaches are not coaching their own kids, but does it happen, yes. If this is an issue for you, then join a different team, but dont act live Valor is a snowflake on this matter.

Why do the Valor defenders always whine that people are "arguing"? No one is arguing. People just want information before wasting their time trying out for a team they wouldn't pay for. It looks like this guy coached the third team last year, then moved up to the second team this year, and now is scheduled to coach the first team nest year. Maybe his own kid improved really rapidly. Maybe he is a rock star coach, maybe he is just getting promoted b/c all the other coaches quit. Who knows.

Whether or not he coaches his own child is a knowable yes or no fact. Maybe the Valor employee who lurks around can clear that up.

If he does coach his own kid, that should be made clear at tryouts to the parents.

I don't care about NVA. Someone is specifically asking about this one particular coach. Do you happen to know the answer to that question?
