Possible. But I was in a sorority in college and blackout drinking and vomiting was honestly pretty normal — especially on spring break. It’s obviously disgusting to think about now but at 18 to 21 it was far from uncommon.

No, it doesn't.

Typically families and even victims do not dictate criminal investigations.
Here DR saw scratches on him and other evidence that raised concerns, discussed at hearing if you understand Spanish. Without a body they could not hold him longer. But he may have no knowledge of who took her. The focus on him and water may have been too limited.

The bar video is suggestive, an envelope, sniffing drinks, same men later going to the beach. In DR it is said the idea of going to beach was suggested to them in bar.
Without family pressure, DR has economic incentive to sweep under rug. Per TA reviews in this thread there have been reports of spiked drinks, of men too, safety incidents, men being offered $ for companions, etc. Investigation was ended prematurely. Tragic esp if she may be alive.

Some friends this girl had. Even if she hooked up with the guy, when she didn't show up for the excursion after she venmo'd for it, how could they just go about their day until 4pm.
And this guy with the hero syndrome most likely did something to her.
And the parents knowing she's dead probably just don't want her name dragged through the mud by the Indian circle in Ashburn and Aldie and want her declared dead. They must be looking out for their other children.
It's sad that this girl won't get justice.
Well, you should read the 208 pages. Nothing you have said hasn't been said already and discussed.
Her parents’ action is not even based in law and it’s an extremely unusual action, esp less than 2 weeks after she went missing. They have created an additional spectacle.
I’m not sure both parents are in agreement re this timing.
My guess is that they have been pressured in some way using their citizenship/residency status as leverage. They have two younger kids at home whose lives have already been turn upside down by what has happened to their sister. Being deported from the only place those kids know of as home would cause additional trauma.
Pure speculation, but that was the feeling I got watching their news statement.
US sent FBI and HS, parents were not pressured.
I think they left after only 3 days when videos went public. I think father is motivated by shame and mother may not have been in agreement.
It is possible she was trafficked, even after he passed out.
Parents action has all but shut down searching.
It’s in interest of DR, not US, India or the poor girl to sweep under the rug after only 11 days.
How are your concluding this?because of their citizenship?
No, culture.
They left DR after only 3 days when vids were released.
DP. Correlation? Couldn't they have left for a host of other reasons, such as their other children to care for who were probably facing some emotions of their own. What a fking troll post above.
Neither could stay and search for missing daughter? After only 3 days? They also asked stations to not play video. They took the unprecedented, and non-Hindu required step of asking that she be declared dead after only 11 days. DR would have to pass a law for that, otherwise the time period is far longer in DR and US. They hugged someone after 3 days who was a POI still under investigation. I feel for them but anyone deserves the investigation not to be truncated after only 11 days, not even 2 weeks!
