Alito is now the new Hitler, the new Mussolini.
I will not have my liberty downgraded because he is a sexist pig.
I will not be willingly enslaved.
Just move to Maryland or DC. Problem solved.
Not if there's a nationwide ban.
Very unlikely to happen. Abortion wasnt illegal throughout the US before RvW so it doesnt logically follow that it will be banned after.
Abortion wasn’t politicized before the way it is now. Sure Catholics opposed it but it wasn’t a core tenet of right wing ideology until later
Pre-1980's Catholics practiced what they preached. They also didn't impose their religion on to others the way the Evangelicals are now.
There is scant evidence this has happened due to anyone's religion. Many people believe abortion is murder and they have concerns with murder for many reasons, some moral and some practical.
But they are fine with the death penalty
did the baby do something wrong and go to trail to get aborted?
DP. If you believe in the sanctity of life, you should be opposed to the willful taking of all life.
+1 Is life sacred or not? Are some lives less sacred than others?
Unless the baby is guilty you don't execute
Why not? We have executed many people over the years who turned out to be not guilty.

If life is sacred then why do Republicans attack the social safety nets for children and moms?

I will gladly vote for more moderate democratic policies than I would like, and I will also gladly vote for more progressive Democratic policies than I would like. Because at the end of the day I'm more aligned with those policies than anything that Republicans can put up.

I think it's fine for us to critique each other within party as that's how things progress. At the same time, I think we all recognize when the chips are down at voting time any dem is better than the GOP at this point.

Their extremely self-righteous Twitter warriorism has cost not only women, but POC and LGBTQ people the basis of their rights. I truly hope they feel sitting out the election in 2016 was worth it. We have them and their ignorance of how politics actually works to blame for Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett. So much for their "idealism" - they've handed the extreme right-wing the keys to kingdom. When will they wake the f#$k up?
WTF!
Why do moderates blame progressives all the time for staying passive and at the same time give RW a pass for doing the despicable things? Moderates need to wake up start voting Democrats all the time until all three wings of government come back to care for the majority of the country in stead of being mad at progressives.
No matter what you think progressives, they fight for everyone instead of trying to hog resources for a small rich and corrupt section of the society.
Most of them are decent people, but had they voted for Hillary in November of 2016, there would have been no President Trump. They let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
The Republicans are shamelessly, cartoonishly evil — but one thing you have to give them credit for is banding together and toeing the Party line. They work together as a team. They will defend the indefensible if need be. The ones who don’t lie, cheat and steal will turn a blind eye to the lying, cheating and stealing of their fellow Republicans — whatever it takes to win. That’s why they’ve won so much.
I’m not advocating that the Democratic Party should use Republican tactics to win at all costs, but JC, would it kill Manchin to help out his own party on the biggest issues of the day?!

Most Americans are this dumb and ignorant. Sad, but true.

I’m no fan of the progressive wing, but this anger is sorely misplaced.

PP is mad at a few thousand terminally online Twitterers and Bernie Bros and not the 63 million troglodytes who gleefully voted to make The Handmaid's Tale a reality in 2016.

Sorry, but this falls squarely at the feet of "moderate liberals" who didn't feel the need to codify our rights in law. Who were content to stand behind "well it's settled precedent." Maybe instead of villifying progressives, you could start actually working with us to actually get something done. Continuing to blame us for all your problems and expecting us to support you in elections is crazy. When will y'all wake the f#ck up and realize the "moderate left" is playing you?
