“ Research on the Pfizer vaccine from Israel – the country that has vaccinated the biggest proportion of its population so far – appears to back up the trial data. Evidence showed that just 0.04 per cent of people who received two doses of this jab developed Covid. And a separate study comparing vaccinated and unvaccinated people found that the vaccine offered 92 per cent efficacy.

Further good news is that it looks like the vaccine stops transmission - an Israeli study found recipients built up so many antibodies they would be unlikely to pass the virus on.”

The actual study seems to be behind a paywall, but here’s the article:

The transmission part is especially heartening! It seems to follow what several infectious disease specialists are saying, that based on how other vaccinations work, transmission shouldn’t happen, or at least be greatly reduced.

Here are today's Bloomberg numbers: 124 million shots given around the world, 38.5 million shots given in the U.S. with 1.36 million people being vaccinated a day.

It’s personal good news, but now in terms of our local family, I am fully vaccinated, my parents are 2 weeks post their first vaccine, and my husband got his first today at Giant pharmacy (which he says was very well run). My neighbor across the street got her first dose last week (and we have kids the same age who would love to play together more). I feel so hopeful that our own little personal family / community bubble is trending towards herd immunity. It’s an amazing feeling.

This is so fantastic.

This can lead the way to cures for other diseases that cause cytokene storms (or other strains of the virus which we of course hope we don't ever get!)

My friend got covid and was unable to recover his stamina. Breathless after 15 minutes... exhausted all the time... barely any sex drive... lost all desire to brush his teeth... shortened attention span... atrocious breath from tonsil stones... weight piled on... developed skin tags all over his neck...

Thought it was long term covid effects. He was terrified and his GP sent him to a pulmonologist. His lungs were fine but they now found that his was sleep apnea causing this. He's on a CPAP machine and doing much better. Weight loss will help as well....

I'm sharing this because he's so relieved and its a very positive thing that his symptoms aren't long term covid effects!

Just came here to share this. Woohoo!! I hope the FFA schedules their reviews quickly.

It takes a few weeks because they need to hold an advisory committee meeting before they can issue an EUA

FDA just announced about 30 minutes ago, Feb 26 for the Vaccine Advisory Committee (I forget the actual name) meeting.

That timeline makes sense. It was three weeks from submitting EUA to approval for Pfizer and Moderna also.
