Yep. There is no support for ICE. Even my conservative friends are upset and pissed off. ICE will be defunded and its responsibilities will be moved to other governments agencies.
No. Schumer and Jeffries have already said ICE will not be defunded. They have appropriated $120 Billion towards ICE and the hiring of 10,000 new agents with $50,000 bonuses each, not to mention the establishment of new detention facilities that will hold an additional 100,000 detainees. The Democratic leadership is not touching that. Schumer and Jeffries are very clear about this. And that is who Democrats have chosen to be their leaders in the House and Senate. So nothing happening there.
State and local gov.t have tremendous power to curb ICE. The fact that they have not done so is enraging. We must all insist our local law enforcement have non-cooperation agreements with ICE unless it is a criminal arrest.
Also, state and local governments can and should:
Track ICE apprehensions/ account for all victims
Run support hotline for impacted families
Provide legal aid to immigrants
Track ICE locations & share Info with immigrants at risk
Maintain list of ICE license plates.

1) No body cam (can you imagine real cops taking out their cell phones to film an encounter, breaking all manner of policies regarding privacy)?
2) Jumping out of a generic silver pickup truck with nothing identifying it as a law enforcement vehicle.
3) Officers not identifying themselves and immediately running up and escalating the situation by screaming swear words and pulling on the door handle (no cop in a million years would do this; you keep your distance, make verbal contact first, deescalate, ensure the scene is secure—hands on steering wheel etc—then approach the suspect).
4) Accosting a citizen when there’s no report of her in distress or engaged in illegal activity. In other words, she’s not a suspect. If she’s impeding traffic or a law enforcement activity, you tell her to move along. If she refuses to comply, there are procedures for detaining her in a safe, secure manner.
5) Firing at a moving vehicle, including through the driver’s side window, endangering other people’s lives who might be standing on the other side of the vehicle (bullets go through a car door like tin foil)
6) There’s more, but the point is this ICE officer failed at every level. At worst, Renee Good was protesting ICE and being a bit obnoxious about it. She clearly was not trying to harm anyone. She might’ve panicked with all these gunmen screaming at her, She might’ve just said “F it” and tried to drive off. Whatever the case, this is 100% on this ICE officer and the practices (they’re not really even policies) of the ICE terror regime.
Are you a sworn employee?
Do you counter any of their points?
I’m starting with the most important point first. It’s germane to the conversation. You indicated you work for a major metropolitan police department. That was obviously intended to convey a certain level of knowledge about the department’s General Orders concerning patrol, and the training necessary to meet your cities requirements for certification.
PP here. Sworn. Better?
Not really.

Even if we accept (and this is a flawed premise), that Nicole Good was a terrible person, that she was a paid trouble maker, that she deliberately provoked, that was breaking all sorts of laws... what is the logical consequence???
Not three bullets in the face.
Not logical, but it happened. Now her little boy has no parents.
Wow, really???
Do you think a stepparent isn’t a real stepparent when they are in a same sex marriage?
Disgusting. That boy has a stepmother still, one who adored his biological mother and will never let him forget her, her values and her love for him.
Stepmother may not have custody pretty soon; grandparents of the boy already filed for emergency custody hearing. Stepmother pushed the mother to drive into LEO, earned over a million dollars for that, so let see how sympathetic the court is going to be toward her.
Parents and stepparents with legal and physical custody have presumed priority over grandparents. The best interests calculation which is pretty much uniform from state to state (UCCJEA) defers to the home state of the child and prioritizes continuity and stability of the child’s current schooling, residence, established relationships of family as well as community and medical providers. The legal/custodial parent would have to be found unfit and that isn’t going to happen based on a choice her adult independent spouse made to participate in legal observing of ICE activities in their home neighborhood when their child was safely at school and not put into danger by either of them.

Oh, also Minnesota - and Minneapolis in particular - is famously friendly to the LGBTQIA community.
Nice try through. Hopefully the paternal grandparents won’t be so dumb as to drag that orphan through an extended court battle over custody of that child and force his stepmother to diminish the funds which have been donated for his support and care in order to fight for the custody of him his biological mother intended her to have. Assuming of course that there is an adoption or guardianship plan in place concerning her legal rights to the child.
Good and her wife didn't get custody of all the kids why would a non related woman get custody of goods kid that she barely was able to be allowed to have?
None of your business! What does this have to do with this topic?

You think that’s bad, some ICE guy with kids shot a lady in the face because his feelings got hurt. I’m concerned for their safety.
+1

Do you apply this same kind of analysis to every wife murdered by her husband as well?
Indecision and a lack of action are, in fact, decisions. Outcomes may be deadly.

Anonymous wrote:The Trump regime really screwed this one up. They immediately came out with a story defending the agent instead of calling for an investigation. Usually they would get lots of credulous headlines repeating their story and that would bake their narrative into the public consciousness, but in this case the videos came out immediately and showed the regime was lying. Normal people might backtrack at that point, but this regime is incapable of admitting any mistake ever so now they’re just repeating their initial lie over and over while losing the tiny bit of credibility they still had.
