To the best of my knowledge there was no FCPS notice about heat, no mandatory notices about not having practices etc. Which means it was coach's discretion not to have practice. All the games were held the last two days.

They will start the games. The heat index is dropping at least 4 more degrees between now and 5pm. Based on forecast temperature dropping a lot after 6pm that is the current estimated time of storms. With field availability it seems potentially feasible to move a 5:30pm game to 5pm if the bus can make the logistics work.

I know it's come up before, but now that we're into the playoffs I think we can all finally agree that this is the worst lacrosse has been in Virginia in a long time.

Westfield just played Madison to 6-1 game and Chantilly's offense is high power. Not two teams I'd want to play in an elimination game on a back to back to back play day situation.

I did not hear of any games having heat issues yesterday nor Monday.

Generally the peak temperature today is at 2pm and will be under 90 by 5pm.

The game is not getting moved up. It's also likely going to be too hot to play before 5:30 anyway. On the off chance they get stormed out, the continuation/make up will be tomorrow. Yorktown Girls soccer has a game as well so time and location might get weird. Major advantage for Chantilly and Westfield.

They may move the game time from 5:30 to 5pm? Looks like thunder storms are happening after 6pm, but that forecast may shift as the day progresses.

Agree, they seem to have a number of excellent young offensive players and Madison has a great young defensive core, so it will be fun to watch these two programs go head to head over the next few years.
