Not the immigrants my non-profit serves. The first thing they request is how to learn enough English to get a job and how to get their kids into school.

Anyway, I was deeply saddened to hear Michelle Obama say she felt proud of her country for the first time. Even today you can hear the pain in Michelle Obama when she speaks about her experiences as a young black student at Princeton. So, as a white woman, who has empathy, I feel sorry for blacks like Michelle Obama and Kolin Kapernick who are truly gifted with opportunities beyond what most white people have in any nation, but especially beyond what most blacks have in any other nation.
Kaepernick is biracial and was raised by white parents.
I still feel sorry for him that he felt the need to kneel during the national anthem as a form of protest. He didn't really get people on his side by doing that. He lacked appreciation for everything he achieved in this country.
Yes, because kneeling is so disrespectful, the worst form of protest.
Yes, it didn't accomplish anything, except anger people. Individual police officers don't represent all American people or fans of the NFL who pay money to be entertained, not preached at by athletes.

Of course things have gotten better, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t many challenges still. Things have also gotten better for women but they still are behind men in many ways, such as representation in government, and they still make less than men on average—82 cents for every dollar a man makes. So should we as a society stop striving for more equality because “things have gotten better”?
Yes, we should strive for more equality, but some of this anti-racist equity stuff has gotten out of hand.

This is such a load of tripe. Dark immigrants from Africa and the Caribbean are not always upper middle class. Some of them are dirt poor and come here with nothing- like my dad, an orphan who came here with $600 in his pocket in the 70s and somehow got a PhD with dark skin and a funny name. I think if you want it the opportunity is there. If you’re a black American the sky is the limit.

No. I was suggesting that an anonymous forum may not be the venue where tools like naming, shaming, and ostracizing people come into play, if one thinks that DEI proponents rely on such tools.
