I’m hoping our division is all cool without and there doesn’t need to be a discussion.

No. When there are meets at our pool we aren’t enforcing mask wearing. The coaches and volunteers for the other team are welcome to try to enforce wearing for their swimmers if they want to for some reason. When we go to other pools we will abide by their rules.

Our team reps have decided that kids need to wear masks to swim practice. So they wear a mask to walk over to the team area, remove their masks before getting in the pool then spend all of swim practice congregating at one of the pool or even on the deck while getting instruction all without a mask. Then they are expected to put their mask on when they gather their stuff and leave that pool deck. At which point they go to other areas of the pool without masks and interact with all their other friends at the pool. It all makes zero sense.
I have not heard what will be required at time trials, but again parents hang out all the time at the pool without mask so requiring them at time trails seems silly.
Hey I am a team rep and we have a similar policy - the reason, is that we know some of the pools we swim against have very different rules. Although our pool really is acting like 2019 a number of pools are not. So we keep masks on the table so when we tell everyone we will all be wearing masks it isn't a shock. I don't like it, but that is the reason. We have already heard from several teams that they will be strict on masks.
We are doing the same for the same reason - we aren't really enforcing it but we are saying it.
Will you not allow a kid to swim if they refuse to wear a mask?
At meets it will be whatever the two pools agree to and in that case absolutely the kid will not be allowed to swim.

Why not just follow the rules of the pool?
My kids will but I know some families who might not…
