If Arlington picked ECNL for boys and GAL for girls, that says something. By all accounts, an all in ECNL decision would have been welcomed in Richmond.
Yeah, no.

Arlington never was a girls elite powerhouse on the same level as McLean, Bethesda or FCV. It is nothing more than a glorified rec organization. Stop the nonsense. Arlington is not ready for ECNL and does not produce enough talent to justify membership. Let the top girls move on if they can find a team to take them. The rest should go back to CCL.
I don't know anything about the girls teams and you may well be correct, although it appears some people at least disagree with you. But the boys teams, assuming the players remained with Arlington of course, would be the strongest teams by quite some distance.
This is why, although I have no direct knowledge, I believe that the rumors regarding ECNL possibly being willing to admit Arlington, but only if both boys and girls join together, might be true.
Arlington 03 would lose to all 3 ECNL teams and have already. Arlington 04 would lose to at least McLean. This is boys.
I don't know about Arlington 03. But Arlington 04 is the best team in the state and would slaughter McLean.
McLean 04s actually beat Arlington 04s. The only team that got slaughtered is Arlington 03s, BRYC beat them by 7 or 8 goals.

You did not play the Arlington "DA" team. Your 04s Played Arlington Red. I know people keep saying rankings are meaningless, including Arlington folks, but that first Arlington team is ranked #2 in US in youth soccer rankings.

Arlington is a real club with good coaches, fields, and a player pool. Metro United is a joke.
This is a troll trying to start a fight. Don't take the bait.
Agree. The original question is a good one though, considering Metro has a very good training program, coaching staff, and hasn’t upset ECNL in any way.
Great training program and coaching staff? Just because you say it and tell your little doesn’t mean it’s true. Metro was in last in every age group. Will they be able field teams in GAL? Lots of their players looking for spots on ecnl rosters.
Unless you are an ECNL coach, or a MU parent who probably would not be trashing their own club, how would you know this?
Parents talk?
Talked to all of them have you?
