This is an rather delusional perception of the NoVa soccer landscape. At U16, BRYC would take FCV. At U17, BRYC and McLean would crush FCV; that FCV team being ranked 20th in the DA is a sign of weakness of that league. At U19, McLean was at least even with FCV this year and next year BRYC will be. Of course, FCV won’t show up to a tourney to play ECNL teams so you can keep living the dream.

Thank you for the laugh.

06: vda beats fcv
05: vda and McLean beat fcv
04: FCV is the best

Lol.

The funniest is the 05.

Not a single 05 from vda or McLean would make fcv.

I would not say this. There was one VDA player who had an offer and turned FCV down last year.

Likewise, there was one McLean player who had an FCV offer and turned it down this year. There was also one VDA player who accepted an FCV offer this year.

Numbers are low, but it happens. Both VDA players are probably 1a & 1b as far as quality.

And not a single FCV 05 player could make the PDA team that kicked your ass in Penn Fusion and triggered the parents into a brawl.

There is always a bigger fish so the chest beating is pointless.

So you are saying that McLean's whole starting 11 is good but no one is individually great. Did McLean 05 add any new players to roster for next year?

Agree. 05 FCV would beat McLean and VDA. I’ve seen all of them play. No one in NoVa can hang with FCVs top 4 to 5 players in that age bracket. Rest of the players on these teams are comparable. To bad all of these coaches are too scared to play each other for fear of recruiting. Would love to see Bethesda ECNL (with new Mont. Rush additions), Pipeline, McLean, VDA, FCV, and Arlington play each other in a little 05 Aug. preseason tourney. They could even play indoors at the SJ to stay out of the heat. Throw MU and Loudoun in there to make two 4 team groups. Call it the Beltway “Candle” tournament. (Note the word scramble of the letters in ECNL and DA). Do the same with 04s thru 02s on successive weekends, picking top 8 area ECNL/DA programs in the area at each age group. Come on Clyde and CZ and others ... you can make it happen ...

Fcv are unwilling to risk a loss to a non-da team in the area. I know our coach has tried multiple times to set up a scrimmage. MD Rush has played vda in a scrimmage. I think they’ve played McLean too. Bethesda and vda will play in a few weeks before Champions League. Even spirit takes scrimmages with area teams. It’s a good chance for teams to play different formations and try kids in different positions against good competition.

Here comes the fcv parents being triggered over the suggestion that they could possibly lose a game. We will never know if their teams are best in the area because they only play spirit and Arlington.

In 10 years, you'll see how silly all this is

Such a tired and boring comment. Why are you reading this forum?

Think deeper.

Why do you want really want all the local teams to play? Bragging rights? Do you know who the top 04 te was in 1998? No? Why not? If your daughter team wins the tournament does she get a college offer? No? Then what does she get? Nothing?

So why do it? Bragging rights for adults who want to justify their choices.

Fair point +1

I don't care either way, but seems your logic would deduce that it would be for bragging rights only. What is the end fruit in which all players are seeking? Probably not to rub it in to another 14 or 15 y/o kid.

Don't discount the competitiveness of U14 or U15 players. A lot of these kids go to school together, some get along, some don't. But they would all enjoy proving themselves on the field. And if they didn't then maybe its time to reevaluate what we're all spending thousands a year on.

Sure but they aren’t on this forum beating their chests you fool

No, but they are being raised by parents who elementary school name call on an anonymous forum.

Correct, its much to better to spend several days and thousands of dollars to send kids around the country to play teams that may or may not be good competition for them.
And, no parents ego gets fed by saying my little Becky is going to Arizona to play in the Elite Super Showdown Championship Showcase.

Playing 3 games in 3 days without having to leave the beltway against teams you may not typically play makes no sense at all.

Well get on it. Makes calls to the clubs, set some dates and rent some fields...DO IT!

Make it free and all on your dime, maybe it will get more interest.

If you're not aware enough to know that Arlington's official name is "Arlington Soccer Association" and they often refer to themselves as ASA (see their homepage and the very first tab on the menu, "About ASA") then you should stick to the sidelines and just watch the grown-ups have a conversation.

Hey grown up, you're an idiot. The official name is now ARL hahahha insert foot into mouth and you write like a typical arlington parent. Love bitch slapping you folks around.

Except they just announced a change to now use ARL instead of ASA

The end game is college. Getting on a good TEAM in a good LEAGUE with connected coaches to maximize exposure is the priority.

Maybe for your family but not for everyone.
Many kids just want to play soccer at a high level while they are high school age, but have no desire to play in college due to the time commitment.

It's always sad when people have such a myopic view on this topic.

Speaking of college being the goal, what commitments are on the FCV 02 team? just the one?
