Numbering by rank is the oddest thing I ever heard. I know most first teams gets 1st pick, but most just keep the numbers given to them at the younger ages. Most kids want to mimic their idols like 10 for Messi and 7 Ronaldo. Some line to align it with position, such as 9 for striker or 1 for goalie.

Didn't get the email either !!!! Oh wait my son play at a different club... But I guess its ok just to follow all the other rouge parents and order ahead too.
