6) attend seder(s) (I'm not sure how many);
7) visit the Holocaust Museum;
8) express a desire and enthusiasm to continue working with Jewish groups and noting similarities in Jewish and African history.

Those are not the actions of someone who is full of hate towards Jews.

Exactly! It's all for show. But his recent actions are betraying his true feelings. Also, did you know that his remarks about the Rothschild's controlling the weather were truncated? The Nation of Islam provides a range of social services in Ward 8 including distributing food. While those services are not contingent upon a $500 donation, they would end if the NOI was not allowed to continue its work in DC.

It's not uncommon for extremists groups to mix social services with their less savory activities. For example, Hamas and Hezbollah do a lot of very needed social service work in the areas they control, in addition to their armed activities.

Who is calling for a ban on them working in DC? Would that even be legal? What people are complaining about is White's donation. And AFAICT the admiration for NOI in AA communities has less to do with handouts (done by many organizations) than with the turning around of lives by religious conversion.

Council member Brandon T. Todd (D-Ward 4) said White has “considerable work to do to regain the trust of the Jewish community.” Still, he called for understanding for his colleague.

“It would be easy to react with scorn and anger. But at a time when powerful forces seek to tear our nation apart .?.?. we must all strive to find within us patience and understanding for the mistakes of others,” Todd said in an email.
