Kids are probably working/interning at the school already and the school is impressed.

Also, if parents are profs or Palo Alto techies odds are the kids aren’t dumb.

EA, ED and SCEA applications were up at all prestigious universities and SLACs. Go and look at the number increase. Each school is "boasting" about the increase, so fewer kids are being admitted percentage-wise EA, ED and SCEA

Not surprising - once Chicago introduced ED II, you know they won't be accepting many from the EA or RD applications
