It is in EVERY school. Don't you get it? Even your kid's school. Yes. Don't believe me--
Call the principal and ask for a meeting to get their perspective on the issue.

Maryland is even requiring Narcan to be stocked in school nurses' offices now.

Every parent I have asked about it believes this is not an issue at their schools. If we start to name the schools then perhaps parents will wake up to the issue, pay more attention, and work with their schools to address it.

Also carfentanil from China that is 5000 times stronger. It is an elephant tranquilizer now killing people here.

I though heroin mostly came from Afghanistan? It's what funds terrorism.

Most comes from Mexico. The fentynal that is now being used to cut it mostly comes from China.

A pipeline from Mexico to Ohio and then sent all over US.

You're right. Heroin mysteriously got injected into your son/daughters veins by a act of God. Certainly it had nothing to do with your kid.

That was true when I was in high school also. These days, there is not that same fear. I have two extended family members, both teens, with heroin addiction. Both started using recreational drugs in middle school and moved in a circle of underachieving kids with too much time on their hands who were looking for a quick high. Started with pot, moved to synthetics like Spice, then to psychedelics, then lifting prescription drugs from the family, and finally to heroin. One cousin died at 19 last year from an OD, the other is still in comunity college and on a 4th round of rehab. It is frightening but in the cases above, this didn't come out of the blue. It started with signs of misbehavior and bad decision making that snowballed over several years. The signs are often there. I've seen kids making blatant posts regarding regular drug use on social media and yet the parents remain clueless.

Because parents are too busy excusing their kids' misbehavior and bailing them out left and right. You can read it in the PP's posts. They are hysterically defending these little drug-chasing fiends. "It's not their fault! Addiction is complex! They got lost! It spiraled out of control through no fault of their own!" No, your precious snowflake wanted to get high and was too dumb to stay away from opioids. How is that helpful? How is acknowledging the truth ever helpful when you're trying to solve a problem? Oh it's much better if we all stay in denial.

Anonymous wrote:Not that PP, but it seems like you (but there are many yous, so perhaps not you) wish to insist all addiction is solely about personal choice. It is way more subtle than that and you're seeing resistance because insistence on assigning blame on a personal choice, parents who raise kids who make bad choices etc does not advance solving the problem. Gets in the way actually.

Addiction among dumb kids looking and bragging about getting high is perhaps not solely about personal choice but certainly a significant part. Boy, you people sure got your heads buried deep in the sand.
