Just because the police officer shooter in Charlotte was black doesn't mean there wasn't any racial overtones in his decision to shoot. I don't know know how any American can ignore the phenomena that black males, in a variety of situations, seem to be shot by police under circumstances where it seems t should have been a last resort but instead just became Plan B. If the civilian had been a white woman or Asian man, would the police just shot them. Lately we've had, all black males, been pulled over for expired tags who disclosed he had a legal open carry and was shot in front of his partner and child, been shot with their hands up as they were waiting for some side of roadside assistance, been shot when served a warrant, been shot when not responding to orders and he turned out to be autistic, etc. How many females or men of other races do you have these random circumstances just get shot when a police officer should have the training and support to try other alternatives to access and rectify the situation? Do police officers have, on average, more patience and more willingness to try harder to diffuse with nonblack males and females?

police, regardless of race, seem to have a fear and preconceived notion that black males, in particular larger (tall, etc.) are aggressive and are more likely to hurt the officer. The tension is there at the initial exchange, as soon as words are exchanged. I am white, but my BIL is a very dark black male, and my BFF is a 40 year old very muscular black man, and both of them have told me stories for years about this. It doesn't matter if the cop is black, it's a cop thing in general. They get pulled over for BS reasons all the time. Both are scared as hell to even get their license out their wallet.

Bringing out the National Guard last night seems to have worked. One needs to present a strong front to violent people. Weakness and "giving them space to destroy" (as was the Baltimore mayor's approach) doesn't work.

(And I could expand it more globally, too. Playing "nice-nice" with bullies simply emboldens them. Look at how Iran is behaving after Obama caved in on the Iranian deal.)

That would explain, at least in part, the difference in reaction between Charlotte and Tulsa.
The east coast is more populated than OK is - more outside agitators come to Charlotte.

There was a story that showed some of the same people at Ferguson was in Baltimore. Paid protesters/agitators? Now, a quick search gave up the following and I don't know much about the site so fwiw here it is.

Those are leftish or liberal sites, but they are not extreme in the same sense as Newsmax. There is one leftist site that I would probably compare to Newsmax, but I can't think of its name at the moment. There is a guy in my Twitter feed who frequently links to it so if he does so again soon I post it here.

The sites that you list have ideological slants, but there are significant differences between those on the list. Several wouldn't even agree with each other. While these sites may have perspectives with which you disagree, they do try to stick to facts. Newsmax, on the other hand, doesn't appear to have any regard for facts and willingly publishes things that have no grounding in reality. Newsmax is even more extreme than Brietbart which is difficult to comprehend.

Ok already, I said it was a quick find. Guarantee I won't forget Newsmax now though. LOL
