One PP stated that one of the kids had a full ride to Princeton but I'm now thinking that may be something made up to garner sympathy. I have a real difficult time believing that a student who has secured a full ride to Princeton so early in the school year would show such poor judgement. Plus, having a student who have been accepted by an ivy is quite a feather in the school's cap and I imagine they'd hate losing that student. So, I think that story about Princeton was bogus.

I am not saying they did not do something completely asinine, but I kind of get total teen brain farts, and I'm guessing admissions people have seen it all. They have to have something going for them if they were admitted this early on. It's only January: Early admissions
If one of them got a C or two in his senior year he probably would have a Princeton letter withdrawn also. Kids do stupid stuff and for better or worse there are often consequences.
I did not think WL has ever had a kid go to Princeton.
Guessing there is something very special about him/her since there have been many great students at WL. I hope Princeton is more thoughtful than some pps. Given that this as a hoax/bad joke and learning experience as everyone has drummed to death they don't have anything to worry about if the kids make it to the end of the year without further disciplinary problems. I hope they are getting adult support and positive messaging to that end, as it would be easy as a teen to go off the rails in an experience like this.

Anonymous wrote:It just doesn't. Your transcripts get sent late June/mid July (at the earliest). When do all of these withdrawals from full admitted candidates over one or two Cs occur? August? I have walked this planet many years and never met ONE person whose offer was withdrawn.

Thats called a conditional admittance isn't it? For all we know these kids had regular acceptance. I know transcripts are sent along for all students but they are not watching like hawks for a C, nor would they withdraw an offer based on that without asking the context. Dont terrify all the parents of seniors pls.
