All atheists claim and believe that? Any proof to back up that statement? Or, maybe it's your opinion you're trying to pass off as fact? That's all this conversation boils down to. I'm the pp you're responding to. "No one is there" is not an acceptable response for why you ignore the tenants of your religion. When you can follow the religion, get back to us about why it's fantastic. Until then, I am going to assume it isn't so great. I asked you questions, which you have conveniently ignored.

The thing I find strange about non-believers (atheism) is the same strange thing I find about believers (religious). Both actually believe in something without proof. Atheist believe God or a higher power does not exist but they can not prove it. Religious types believe a God or higher power does exist and also can not prove it.

For me personally, I'm agnostic. Is there a God or higher power? I don't know. But if I had to choose which (atheisim or Religon) is more logically based, I'd have to go with atheism. A leap of faith is just that.

Not at all. It simply was not meant to be - for whatever reason.
Not everything can be explained.

There have been many unexplainable miracles in my life.



Just because YOU don't understand the science doesn't mean that the explanation is "God" instead of biology.

Science explains SOME of the miracles of life, but not all.
God’s hand at work.
I don’t expect you to believe. You can choose your course in life.
I choose to believe because of the miraculous events I have witnessed.
One of which is the birth of a child.
It doesn’t get much more miraculous than that.


Science has the ability to explain everything in time.

I have delivered two children personally and been present at other births. There is nothing miraculous about biology and technology. Sorry.


If biology is not miraculous to you - that means you can recreate it. Go ahead - make a seed or sperm or egg.


A beautiful work of art isn't miraculous to me but that doesn't mean I can recreate it. This is the stupidest thing I've read on dcum in a while; that's saying a lot.


Art can be recreated. Coming up with the original work is what makes it special. Now, creating a sperm or egg...that's impossible.

I can see why you're super-religious. It's a lot easier to be a judgemental, shiity human being if you can point to gods and ideals, and shake your head about how we're all fallen. If you don't have gods to point to, and you act like an asshole, then guess what? You're just an asshole.

Mine too. And they say everything is "just science." Yes, well... Who created the science? They can't really explain that of course.


What on Earth are you even talking about. Atheists, agnostics, heck educated thesists don't say "everything is 'just science'". Science is a set of tools that allow us to make predictions about the world around us. So of course incomplete or "wrong" theories are disproved every day.

Religion, on the other hand, explains absolutely nothing. It's a tool that's utterly useless for anything other than reflecting our own prejudices and wishful thinking back at us. So of course nothing in religion will be "proved wrong". That's because religion makes no testable claims. When it does it fails utterly.
