This whole thread started because the people that were pointing out that Chris Kyle wasn't a perfect Superman hero and did have flaws were being shouted down by the "'Murica, fuck yeah" crowd.
I think you need to reread the thread. The thread started because someone felt obliged to go after Chris Kyle, which would not have happened if they didn't like the fact that a movie about his life was drawing large crowds.

People brought up MLK had his share of omissions/indiscretions--yet people still can few his actions in a context and deem them extremely praiseworthy. Who are you. You are obsessed with one person showing comparisons. The only thing someone mentioned was the irony that Selma bombed at the box office on MLK weekend while Sniper broke records. Now all you keep talking about is racism, racism, racism.
The total gross for American Sniper is now above $200 million! Definitely a blockbuster.
But it looks like Selma has turned a profit, so relax. Almost as many people have seen Selma as the Paddington movie and it surely will outperform Mortdecai.
Wow, I think this is the type of thing that you should think but not say out loud or write. I have not seen either movie, for the same reason - I am interested in propaganda from either side of the political spectrum - I see movie that entertain me. That said, the fact that you see some deeper meaning behind the respective box office hauls of these two movies is very sad and show why the divisions in the great nation will never heal. I pity us all.

When you see the atrocities these terrorists inflict first-hand, you tend not to see the mission as failed. You simply see individuals who need your help.
