What controversy? The PCSB is behind the concept...and from what I hear, Selah is in negotiations to take part.

Really? I heard the charter law would have to be amended to allow this merger. Did this happen?

No, charter law doesn't have to be amended. The founding/feeder schools' charters need to be amended. Not the same thing.

Yes, but those amendments need to be approved. Considering the controversy about this "expansion", I'm concerned that this school is definitely not a done deal.

Give them a year or so, they're only what, 2 years behind Mundo Verde? They could be a good fit.

If they have a charter, they have what it takes to be a school. You'd have to contact them to know who they're working with to get a facility, but there are well-funded groups that exist to facilitate high-potential charters getting facilities.

Sela is happening; happening at Walter Reed would be a big win for everyone.

Selah has not even opened yet! one reason why these schools joined together is because they're successful.

Sela should join up, they're an immersion school.

Coolidge is a primarily OOB school. I live in bounds and no of no one who would even consider Coolidge.

From what I understand the current students would stay in place at their local schools for another year minimum. The WR space hasn't even been conveyed yet, and then it will need to be gutted and remodeled. But we all need a middle school so founders and parents will make it happen just like they made the elementary schools happen.
