I just took my dog for a walk and saw people. Plus, I'm a person. You sure?

Every single person?

You sure about that?

Much of Eaton and Mann boundary closer to Deal than Hardy.

Much of Marie Reed boundary closer to Oyster-Adams than CHEC.

Some of John Francis closer to Oyster-Adams.

Some of Walker Jones closer to Stuart Hobson.

Shepherd is significantly closer to both Wells and MacFarland than Deal. Distance-wise, it’s equivalently close to both Brookland and CHEC as it is to Deal.

Yeah, I mean, we all know Shepherd makes no sense and we all know why.

There is no need to hint about this. The city literally includes these two schools to create more racial diversity at Deal. They are open about it and always have been.

Which two?

Bancroft and Shepherd. When they rebuilt Wells and Coolidge, they really should have built it big enough to send Shepherd and Lafayette there, and sent Bancroft to MacFarland and Roosevelt (send Oyster there too--a bilingual school should have a bilingual feeder pattern). If they'd done that, they probably wouldn't have needed MacArthur.

Shepherd also has been zoned to Deal since before Bowser was even born.

The new Bancroft PK- K space will be about 20 feet and not even in the Bancroft zone.

Shepherd is a special case because everyone knows it shouldn’t be zoned for Deal… but the Mayor. Also, the families want to be zoned for Deal and could lottery into Wells or MacFarland if they didn’t, so very different situation than Brent/SH.

This may cycle back up faster than you expect if Congress and the presidency turn over. Feds are already trying to rehire a lot of those roles back, but current issue is that no one wants to go work for Trump and don't trust that these jobs are safe. That could shift in the next 4 years.

Though population declines are real.

Here is the information about the enrollment projections. Basically declining births and preschool-age population is the big factor.
