If true, not for long. Plus the previous administration didn’t start the war that was responsible for the previous administration’s high.
While watching my kid’s sports practice, one of the parents commented on the high price of gas. I know all the people around me were Trump supporters. All were complaining about the over $4.25 were now paying locally. One person has a diesel truck and is paying over $5.
I wanted to scream, “thanks guys, this is on you,” but did not.
It'll be lost on them. They've probably convinced themselves that Sleepy Joe and Hunter Biden conspired to steal the gas price lever from the Oval Office.
Here’s literally a Senator trying to blame this on Biden

Next thing they will be telling us is to drive slower to conserve gas!
Or buy EV's and invest in solar and wind power.

Looking at the numbers. 20 million barrels a day(mbd) are in the gulf. Of that about 7 mbd goes through the east west pipeline. Iran ships out 3.5 million a day. World surplus before this war 2 mbd. The SPRs of a bunch of countries are releasing 3 mbd. So a shortage of about 3.5 mbd.
Before the conflict started oil stock were high because of low prices. World oil stocks before the start of the war was 8,200 million barrels. Most of this is trapped in the gulf and in SPRs. Still there is some stock to get through.
Now if Iran, US or Israel start hitting oil facilities price will really take off. The Iranians are more than capable of hit the east west pipeline. It is over 700 miles longs with no defenses and the world deficit would go from 3.5 mbd to 10.5 mbd over night. If oil fields are hit that locks in the deficit for years.
If this does not end soon gas will be above $5 a gallon. Most likely in the $6-$7 range by late summer. Yipes!
