There are only 6 cross country events for men, so he basically dominated every single one of them, ranging from the sprint to the longest distance skiathlon. Among the 6, there is also the relay, which Norway won.
There really isn't a parallel to this, maybe winning every freestyle swim distance and relay?
It's a massive accomplishment, probably not going to ever happen again.
They said it was the equivalent of dominating both the mile and the marathon, I think. And he’s coached by his grandfather!
Klaebo is so great! I loved his race with Ben Ogden, where Klaebo made it look like he just casually was sprinting uphill at the end of the race and took a significant lead…and then eased off to cheer on Ogden, celebrating Ogden’s silver (the first US men’s XC medal since 1960, IIRC). True sportsmanship!

And winning some relays too since he won the relay and team event.
In swimming, Katie Ledecky won the 200m, 400m, 800m (and would have won the 1500m if they contested it that year), 4x200 relay and got a silver in the 4x100 in one Olympics.

The nerve of a northern country where it snows a lot doing well in the WINTER Olympics!
Norway’s also pretty good at middle distance running in the summer. Similar skill set, a lot of them cross country skied when younger.

Compare that to the unrealistic XGame type sports, such as skiing backwards up ramps and doing four somersaults and a twist in the air. When do you have to use that in real life?
Handrails, so commonly found on mountains…
The ski mountaineering gave me anxiety. I often have dreams where I’m late for something and fumbling with my shoes.

Reminds me of Sifan Hassan, the runner who turned it on at the last 200m and won the marathon...AFTER running both the 5000m and the 10,000m earlier that week.

The 50 km men's event was wild yesterday. 3 Norwegians kicking ass out in front the entire time. One drops back a bit and then it's Klaebo and the other guy. Other guy had to know he had no chance. Klaebo got to the last climb and just turned on the jets and was gone.
