I was on one of GDs team and every single player who asked to train with him was offered a spot to train. Plenty of girls who got very little playing time also trained with him. You can't claim he just wants to make money and then think he's turning down money to train girls. Also, all of the training we went to happened before GFR practice times and before GFR had permits for the field.

You’re absolutely right. ECNL players only train with their teams. No private training.


Private training by your own team's coach is sleazy and unethical.

Paying for someone else to do extra training is completely different.

My daughter played for him and started. Never had to pay. That’s because she actually could play. Why is everything on this string so dramatic?


Any coach who shakes parents down for cash to get playtime for their kids is unethical and sleazy. Every kid should be playing in every game regardless of whether they bribe the coach or not.


Already happening at this club. Dig deeper into the owner's business dealings and who is getting playing or "playing up" top teams. They don't call it pay to play for no reason.

Then what are these “indoor practices” considered that ECNL players go to in the winter? They have to pay extra to attend those sessions.
Their club coach just happens to show up at the CrossFit gym to supervise the skills and agility training? Might not be “private” but all the same.

It’s weird to me that you think private training is unusual, or that this is anything but voluntary.
