Let’s hope the departures coupled with the outpouring of misery makes Atkins realize he can’t get his agenda done without pockets of staff at different times working way more than 50 hours per week.

Anonymous wrote:So I’m confused. How many days of telework are allowed now? Two a month? Then why not just make that the official POLICY??? This is so stupid.
I predict that in the future, there will be an informal “policy” that’s pretty similar to the pre Covid official policy.

I don’t mean the people with long term accommodations but just ad hoc by sending an email on a Monday? We’re starting to see it here and there - thus far only people who are buddy buddy with their bosses.
We are all trying to keep it infrequent for now. Like once a month maybe? Maybe twice a month but not more than that.
If we abuse it, that will be the end.
Just take a sick day. We have plenty of those.
I don't know why people keep saying we have a ton of sick leave. We accrue one day a month. You can blow through that and your saved up hours quite quickly if we are required to take the whole day off for a one hour doc appointment. My kids get sick for like 5 days each time so that is 5 months of accrued sick leave gone. Then maybe another kid gets it. Then doc appointment for various things. You get the picture.
You can also use regular leave, which we accrue more quickly. You also can earn credit hours, although credit hours earned outside the office might be frowned upon without a good reason.

There are rules about when you can use sick leave, you actually have to be ill, have a medical appointment, or taking care of an ill family member. Abuse of your sick leave is grounds for discipline. I have found sec management is trying to be fair about the changes, and. I for one would not want to see the little things we get taken away. My spouse works another agency and it is way worse there.
