Yates is good. You should give him a chance.

It's not about "giving him a chance." I'm sure he's good, but he's retired and if you haven't noticed, he is the interim principal, not the principal. Parents want to know what will happen when he leaves.

+1 He's retired. Do people think he's going to stay at BCC for years? The community wants to know the plans for getting a permanent principal.

I would rather have a good interim principal than a permanent principal who is not a good fit. Yates will be there while MCPS (hopefully) identifies a quality principal, which we need BCC to have.

MCPS filled its last three HS principal vacancies with CO rejects who needed a soft place to land after Taylor's CO reorg. Do not get your hopes up about them identifying a "quality principal." It will be someone from Central Office or an AP who has been groomed to do Central Office's bidding.

The most recent HS principals appointed were Adelekan at Blake and Bostic at Wootton, neither of whom had worked at CO.
