Does anyone know anything about Deborah Higdon? She was just named as the acting principal at RICA. Looks like she retired but then has been a substitute administrator for a few years?

Why don't they try random people? They already KNOW these principals can't do the job. If they hire someone totally random, it will at least be hit or miss instead of a definite swing and "miss."

DANG! What is the Harmony Hills principal doing that's so horrible?

What does that even mean? They would have to post the principal position to look for a replacement.

Do not get your hopes up about them identifying a "quality principal." It will be someone from Central Office or an AP who has been groomed to do Central Office's bidding.

They also did this for the open Infants and Toddlers Coordinator position. April Key was a CO reject who had the appropriate certification so she was placed in that position. Has anyone heard how she is doing?

The RICA principal position is posted. Their current principal was just appointed to be director of special education services.

Casey Siddons is the acting principal at Rock Terrace.

What’s his special education background?

They will keep Yates there the entire year for consistency and so they can hire at peak hiring season and get good candidates.

Or they could hire someone to start around winter break.

I think that would be best. The sooner a new person can be integrated and acclimated with the school, the better.

Yates is good. You should give him a chance.

It's not about "giving him a chance." I'm sure he's good, but he's retired and if you haven't noticed, he is the interim principal, not the principal. Parents want to know what will happen when he leaves.

+1 He's retired. Do people think he's going to stay at BCC for years? The community wants to know the plans for getting a permanent principal.

I would rather have a good interim principal than a permanent principal who is not a good fit. Yates will be there while MCPS (hopefully) identifies a quality principal, which we need BCC to have.

The most recent HS principals appointed were Adelekan at Blake and Bostic at Wootton, neither of whom had worked at CO.

Sorry. You're right. I was referring to the appointments to Quince Orchard, Kennedy and Blair when I was talking about CO rejects.

However, the two more recent principal appointments you just mentioned do fit the other archetype I mentioned, which are assistant principals have been groomed to do CO's bidding.
