I guess the membership now understands that Trump’s fevered dream that tariffs will bring back U.S. manufacturing is a fantasy.
And it’s weird, because if that were the case, Biden would have done it. No president in U.S. history has been as pro-labor as Biden.
He led an electric car push that destroyed union jobs.
Elon is the one with electric cars and no union jobs, dear.
Elon's company is successful, and basically cornered the market.
Biden pushed the other car companies to follow along, and they are hurting.

It’s so weird. Honestly cannot figure out what the GOP play is here. Manufacturing is going to be slaughtered by these tariffs and it’s in heavily GOP districts. They have to be smart enough to know that tariffs have never worked in the history of the world. Never.
Same for agriculture. Which is already hurting from the federal grant cuts.
What is the GOP goal here???

It actually won't. It will encourage people to keep old, used cars for longer periods of time. They will be unsafe and more polluting relative to newer cars.
Not a joke - if you keep these tariffs on for decades, the American roads will start to look like Cuba. Old cars from the 1990s and 2000s being constantly fixed by poorer Americans who can't afford $50-80K for a new minivan, SUV, or truck.
This is the norm in most developing countries. I noticed it in the Bahamas that most people were driving around early 2000s beaters.
Are we a developing country???? Are we trying to look like one??
