“I - I prepared what I usually would do sittin' down as I did come back with foreign leaders or National Security Council for explicit detail. And I realized - partway through that, you know, all - I get quoted the New York Times had me down, ten points before the debate, nine now, or whatever the hell it is. The fact of the matter is, what I looked at is that he also lied 28 times.”

'I couldn't - I mean, the way the debate ran, not - my fault, nobody else's fault, no one else's fault.” - Joe Biden interview answer, when George asked what happened at the debate.

It was 22 minutes. Eight days after the debate. Shameful.

I think Hunter's trial and conviction are weighing heavily on him and the stress is accelerating his decline (if you've watched this happen to an elderly relative you know what I'm talking about).

What was up with this? You're not in this for a participation trophy, you're in this to save our democracy.

How will Biden feel if Trump wins? Biden indicated that “as long as I gave it my all,” he would be OK. “That’s what this is about,” Biden said.

This isn't the Joe Biden I know.

Yes. I think you may be right that the Hunter stress has aged him considerably. But whatever it is, he needs to get a grip. His “all” comment was not the right answer and he’s not going to attract voters with this.

This interview did not help his case for staying in the race.

Kamala is damaged goods. She may be the next nominee but she won't win.

Mark Warner of VA, who is probably the most respected D senator, is getting together a group of senators to ask Biden to step down.

Not sure how Biden can continue to insist he's not stepping down while key figures in the party are asking him to withdraw without royally damaging the D brand going forward.

Funny - just realized if Biden is pushed out, there probably is a small minority of delusional old Ds who think he was knifed in the back and won't turn out on election day.

No matter how you game it, Trump is winning one way or another. The election was effectively declared over and done with last Thursday. It's just a sleepwalking zombie zone till November.

What thehell does that have to do with being a good President??

Roosevelt used a wheelchair.

That’s completely different Roosevelt had a physical impairment that did not impact him mentally.

Biden likely is aging mentally and physically.

Trump fell asleep every day of his trial.

Relevance?

Well if the choice is between 2 decrepit old men, I'm going with the one without authoritarian tendencies and who doesn't call half the country LOSERS.

physical and cognitive decline go hand in hand in neurological disorders. Have you noticed Biden’s shuffling gait? His constant falls?

Roosevelt used a wheelchair because he had polio as an adult. That’s much different than Biden’s health problems.

I shuffle too, because of arthritis that has gotten worse as I've gotten older. I have no cognitive decline.

Biden has a neurological disorder. His speech is affected.

Look for more of the same as the past day or two. A few rallies between 10 am and 2 pm when Biden is vaguely functional and can read a teleprompter. A monthly 18 minute "interview" with a friendly "journalist." No other questions from the press. Many hours in the makeup chair as was evident today. He looks like death otherwise and needs even more bronzer than Trump uses. The spineless democrats will trot out platitudes - he's fine; Trump is worse.

Meanwhile, the map expands ever further. All the battleground states are long settled now - Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona and so on. Trump has won all of them. The election is already over. There is no possible way for Biden and Democrats to win. None. Zero. It's all over.

Now it's Trump running up the numbers - New Jersey, New Hampshire, Virginia. Today, the Trump campaign opened eight additional field offices in Minnesota. New Mexico and Maine are likely next.

It's going to be a blow out - the Senate, the House, all of it.

Maybe not such a great idea to nominate a sickly 82 year old. But every day, Republicans grow ever more grateful to the wisdom and acumen of Democrats.

Well said. And all the dems in the country, especially Kamala, now must face the career ending dilemma of what to say about Biden. If they tell the truth, the left wing machine will destroy them. If they continue to lie and say that this obviously demented man is fine, the people will vote them out. I don’t see how Kamala can have a career in politics after Trump wins and she goes down in history for defending Biden’s cognitive ability after what everyone now has seen.

+1 this is very bad.

+1 the Biden family is taking down the entire democratic party, and think they are “saving democracy.” They believe their own hype.

I for one think Biden is right to stay. He was elected the party candidate. And he’ll do the best he can to win. He’s what the people elected. He should stay. Nothing has changed since he was nominated.
