Not every cop does this but before body cameras , it was very real. You can be the caller to 911 and still be treated as the suspect
It’s hard to explain this phenomenon and why OJ freaked out and ran and feared getting killed by cops unless you have generations of stories or experiences of things like this. Cops are just not seen as friends in the black community
Ummm you know that OJ infamously said he wasn’t black, he was OJ, and was chummy with the police before the murders, right? OJ absolutely was not in fear the police would kill him. FFS, they let him lead them on a never ending slow speed chase and return to his home unharmed. Whatever larger point you’re trying to make about the relationship between the Black community and the police really can’t be made with OJ as your example.
OJ was on the cover of Jet Magazine with his first black wife and kids. That’s an all black publication and he did this at his peak. He also donated and was very philanthropic to black causes.
He was an athlete not a politician. What does his one dumb comment “I’m not black, I’m OJ”, which really means he wanted to be seen as a person not a color , and being chummy with police have to do with the fact that he probably was spooked and scared that day of the chase? The drive and the suicide note was one of someone who thought his life was over . Frantic behavior like this doesn’t mean he killed anybody . It could just mean he was terrified and knew he’d be a suspect
You’re moving the goalposts. Sure we can agree OJ was freaked out, but it was not because he thought the police were going to kill him. He was freaked out because he killed 2 people and knew that his life as he knew it, beloved sports icon who had also transcended sports, was over.
This is speculation and can’t be used in a court of law however. The evidence is all that matters and the detective botched things. Ron’s defensive wounds imply he fought a very very strong fight with his attacker . No leather gloves would survive such a vicious defensive fight and stab attack. The scene leads me to believe multiple killers.
Arthritic OJ with bad hands and knees fighting off a martial artist in a death match wouldve led to a pool of his DNA on Ron.
Clearly you’ve drank the kool aid, but you are also (inaccurately) speculating that OJ was freaked out because he was scared of the police or something. You are allowed in court to argue as to the inferences that can be drawn from such a flight, and I think the prosecutors made a mistake in not introducing the chase. Ron wasn’t armed, neither was Nicole, so while I’m sure Ron valiantly fought back, that wouldn’t have destroyed the gloves. Ron did manage to cause a glove to come off and OJ to get cut on the same hand the glove came off
of though and leave drops of blood as he left the crime scene. I don’t completely discount the idea that there was someone else with OJ, hey he even “hypothetically” acknowledges that in that ridiculous “If I Did It” interview. 47 year old, 6 foot 1 inch OJ filled with rage was not some weak, debilitated old man.
Ron and Nicole weren’t even in a relationship. They were platonic friends- something even the Goldman family says. Why would he kill Nicole and Ron if he were this rage filled jealous monster? Ron wasn’t even her boyfriend .
6 foot 1 inch OJ was fat, had a wobbly knock kneed gait, Arthritis in the joints from years as an athlete, had turned to golf in old age, and he was once so afraid of blood on the scene of a movie that the director thought he was too easygoing to play a believable villain . He was not as fit as Ron Goldman who was in his 20’s. Do you know what a martial artist trained in self defense can do? The minute he was on Nicole, Ron would’ve came from behind and choked him to death or at least ran to the kitchen to grab a kitchen knife and call 911. The scene only makes sense to me if there were multiple killers.
I think Ron came upon OJ murdering Nicole, hence the glasses he was returning being found with the bodies. He was the epitome of wrong place, wrong time. OJ was already in a frenzy, and Nicole was probably dead by the time Ron happened on the scene. Just as you’re over exaggerating OJs physical decline at that time, I think you’re also over exaggerating Ron’s physical abilities in the face of an armed OJ Simpson in a frenzy.
That makes even less sense to me. You don’t just stumble upon a stabbing like that. Who would have opened the door? Did he have a Key to the house ? He didn’t know Nicole for that long. They weren’t intimate. I believe he was her dealer and he stopped by to drop off a package
OJ said something about multiple killers and so did some neighbors who reported seeing several men .

Nicole’s diaries are questionable . She was also encouraged by her divorce lawyers to exaggerate or falsify domestic abuse claims to get more spousal support from OJ. Kris Jenner tried but failed to do the same thing to Robert Kardashian , an attorney who knew better and left Kris Jenner practically penniless in the divorce so she had to marry Caitlyn
Okay? The police came out several times. An officer testified she came out in a bra and sweatpants, they arrested him, he pled no contest and did community service by hosting a golf tournament. She had photos of herself beaten up. I guess that meant she wasn't in danger?
Did she go to the hospital ? I can take pictures right now and write diary entries about getting beaten up. Answering the cops with a bra out is not what a terrified woman would do if she were just beaten half to death by her husband . Nicole wanted money and didn’t want to get a job . She did what her friends advised her to do but it failed ,so she decided to reunite with OJ instead in 1993 and agree to ditch her bad friends and lifestyle . Her parents wanted her to go to rehab .
There’s so much there that could be said about how the case was botched,
How Nicole was awful to their house staff, and how Nicole’s friendship with Faye Resnick and Ron Goldman were highly dangerous given their shady pals.
The book Raging Heart by Sheila Weller talks more about Nicole and Ojs marriage and why they were toxic for each other

I’m the PP and I hope this author doesn’t blame Marcia Clark. Poor Marcia Clark gets the blame due to misogyny when it’s really LAPD /Fuhrman that messed up. No prosecutor would’ve won that case . The mistrust toward the LAPD was just too large and this was a celebrity we’re talking about not some random schlub without the means to hire a dream team.
They were mostly white in the civil trial. Guess what? Oj lost. This criminal trial was lost at jury selection and a creative defense team that didn’t even believe their own client. OJ was found not guilty because there were enough jury members who were glad he killed her.
They have said this out loud on camera, there is no reason to pretend it's not true.
It is well documented that Cochran's pre-jury selection research demonstrated he could find jurors like that.
Link? Any person making such an inflammatory statement about a victim would be disqualified from the jury .
If the jurors were all white, I still believe OJ would have walked ala Michael
Jackson in Santa Barbara. Furhman messed up things and his defense was too good. I know people hate Cochran , Kardashian, and Dershowitz and say their cancers were karma but they were darn good

Paranoia is one of the symptoms . Of course she thought OJ was out to kill her. She also fell out with her family too and accused them of stealing things from her home and ruining her life and they often had to get O.J. to reel her back in .
Critical thinking skills also come from those who think a glove soaked in blood and cuts on Ojs hand can appear despite no rips in the glove from the knife attack
It made perfect sense. The prosecution had a great case, but oj’s lawyers we’re better, the jury believed the case would be about helping out a black man that was charming, etc.Anonymous wrote:How would O.J. have cuts on his hand without cuts on the glove?
The glove looked pristine and brand new not like it went through double murder. The bloody leather glove was as shiny as a Michael Jackson’s and so obviously planted by Furhman. It was not in ruins consistent with the amount of blood found on it or OJ’s cuts or Ron’s defensive wounds.
Ego is a terrible thing. People don’t want to admit the prosecution’s evidence made no sense

Only an idiot would wear gloves to not leave a trace and then leave the bloody glove at the scene in a panic . That defeats the purpose . Such a scene would only happen if it were an unintended crime of passion but why bring gloves in LA in June ?
These facts and more are why the case fell apart
OJ was found not guilty because there were enough jury members who were glad he killed her.
They have said this out loud on camera, there is no reason to pretend it's not true.
It is well documented that Cochran's pre-jury selection research demonstrated he could find jurors like that.
