What about the people who did not participate? Why do they have to pay for the loans of the people who took out the loans?
You have a choice this year.
1. Vote for the guy who pays back people's loans, who got us out of Trump's horrible policies, low unemployment and isn't a total Traitor to the US.
2. Or you can vote for Don the Con treasonous snake Russian-owned Project 2025 installment.
This is your last chance to vote if you vote for Don the Con so good luck if that is what you choose. Because Donnie the Dictator is never leaving office never ever and he will rape the US Treasury & all of your social securities monies blind.
But hey you got the right to vote in November have at it.
He doesn't pay back people's loans! <----- That's the whole point.
He transfers the debt to income tax payers. How thick-headed do you have to be not to grasp this simple point?
DP... How thick headed do you need to be to not grasp points like, having a well-educated populace is good for business and industry, it is good for the economy, it increases research, innovation and productivity, it increases economic output and growth, it helps attract investment, it improves economic stability, it increases global competitiveness, it improves entrepreneurship, it results in lower crime and better public health... All of which also in turn contribute to the tax base which helps pay for it.
Meanwhile, the reasons why people should not be well educated are... control of information, as a poorly educated populace is more easily manipulated and disinformed; worker exploitation, wages can more easily be suppressed, and other reasons, all of which are selfish and bad for the country.
Where is your evidence that college provides a good education, let alone one that leads to improved economics? Sending 100 IQ folks to college has been a complete waste of money as evidenced by the low growth rates under both parties of the past 30 years.

Has nothing to do with being well educated or not. In fact, educational expenses have skyrocketed much more quickly than any other industry except medical care.
I do not believe that you necessarily get a better education at an Ivy League vs. a State University vs. a Community College.
If fact, those institutions are abusing their status and often providing diplomas that cannot be monetized in many different subjects. Then the tax payer gets to foot the bill because the graduate complains they can't make enough to pay the student loan.
On top of that, educational institutions see that and they push tuition up even faster to soak up all that free money from the tax payer. That kills the signal from the market to the institution that enough is enough and it becomes a vicious cycle with politicians trying to respond to a market with a complete lack of signaling from the end consumer and payer. It's a bad situation made worse by politicians to wave a magic wand and transfer debt to people who have the least say in the whole damn thing. It's really getting to be nonsense.
And how does Joe Biden "spend" when all spending is supposed to originate in the House of Representatives? Is that just another broken process?
The cost of higher education is a totally separate issue from whether or not we should be helping people get higher education without incurring massive debts.
Exactly, and we should be steering our efforts towards addressing the root of this problem as opposed to kicking the can down the road by asking the American taxpayers, many of whom didn't attend college, to pay for massive debts that are unjust in the first place.
Sure but how does that translate into a vote against Biden? If you think Trump cares about making college cheaper, you're mistaken. And if you actually think he cares about the debt, that's also a joke given how much he drove the debt up.

Bolded is a big thing for me, I think free community college would be awesome and valuable to society.
The other two are pretty much just overpriced versions of the same thing. Except in their case most of the kids spend their 4 years “learning” in an enclosed ideological bubble that doesn’t reflect the realities of adult life. It seems more and more that colleges aren’t doing as good of a job as they should be. As evidenced by the public’s historical low faith in our higher education system and the continuous stream of anecdotes from employers. More andmore companies are considering/preparing/have dropped the 4 year degree requirement.
Another issue is those ridiculous for-profit schools. They don’t work for the vast majority of people who try them and they saddle you with a ridiculous amount of debt. They need to just be banned all together. I know they work for SOME people—but the statistics of the societal and personal costs that come from people that they don’t work for and the bad actors that don’t deliver on their promises to anyone while investors make a fortune, that we then have tax payers cover is unconscionable.

Previous Congresses gave executive branch a blank check to forgive students loans if certain statutory conditions are met: Public Service Loan Forgiveness, fraud & misrepresentation by a university to students, closure of the school, 20 years of repayments for undergrad loans, 25 years of repayments for graduate school loans, or death/dismemberment of the borrower.
When Biden brags about “5 million people forgiven” it’s being done through those bipartisan laws governing student loans.

What about the people who did not participate? Why do they have to pay for the loans of the people who took out the loans?
You have a choice this year.
