Bombarding this message board with unfounded suggestions of a YWNT pipeline outside of what already exists, comparisons with mens European leagues, downplaying ECNL status in youth soccer, etc. will not change that fact.
Some of us have been around DMV soccer long enough to see this smoke and mirrors for what it is.

GA is hemorrhaging talent and filling the gaps with the leftovers. They just took in VRSC, a club who has shown zero success on a local level, never mind state, regional or national. Yeah, they have a great facility and poached some interesting coaches. But being GA isn't going to enable VRSC to compete with the local ECNL clubs, not when those who know are going to steer their players toward Union, VDA and NVA. Even Regional League is stronger than GA with the exception of the top-of-the-top, which includes dead-in-the-water FCV and Ukrainians, who are leaving for ECNL.
The numbers about ECNL don't lie: they place the most player at D1s, at P4s, and yes, at the pro ranks, both domestic and abroad. GA is second fiddle and it's not even close.
Let's stop acting like a sanctioning decision that has zero impact on where the talent will go will have any discernable impact on the youth soccer landscape.
Ga also picked up Liverpool fc that dominated in all age groups in DPL. They actually move teams up unlike ECNL.
Where is your proof ukies are leaving?
Where is your proof that nothing will come out of the sanction?

Anonymous wrote:NWSL teams are focused on the First Squad, most do not have reserve teams. Having an academy or reserve team takes time and resources away from focusing on the First team. Also, Pro teams do not want to upset local youth clubs (ticket sales). That's why the Spirit has not added another youth program after the DA a few years ago.

It’s ok that your daughter doesn’t play for or against the best. It was a very respectable 2nd tier league. But with the constant inclusion of more low caliber teams and defections of more and more good ones, that too is going to become questionable.
GA vs ECNL arguments about which is the better league is stupid. That's like arguing if EPL is better than La Liga
the U17 YWNT just played in Mexico and it had a mix of GA and ECNL girls on the roster. Are the girls that played ECNL any better than the girls that played GA because they played in ECNL and vice versa? No. Is MBappe any worse of a player because he plays for PSG in Ligue 1 vs Man City in EPL or Real Madrid in La Liga? The league DOESN'T MAKE THE PLAYER.
At the end of the day, the only real thing that matters in the player. If they're good enough and they put in effort on their recruiting, they'll be seen and get offers - RL and EDP players are playing in D1. Talent is talent.
The argument wasn't stupid when you thought GA was going to become DA 2.0
It was then, it is stupid now and it will be stupid going forward.
