I really do think that people outside of Capital don't know just how close some of the talent is on Blue and Orange. Granted not all of the players but the top players on the Orange team could easily interchange with many on Blue. The Dartmouth commit started out on Orange as an example. People who don't watch the actual players or say for instance a practice where they scrimmage each other really don't know and should stay quiet.

This is so messed up. Some of the Orange players are as strong as the blue players. The goalie is strong and chose a school that was right for her. Who cares who is committed there? A skilled orange player.

Agree. It is a bizarre rant. UVA is a great school with a very good program. The coach they had for the last 20 years retired and their best player transferred rather than be part of a rebuild. UVA would be a great place to go for a new recruit and participate in a program with new great coaches and get a great education.

It means the original poster who complained UVA doesn’t take “standout” in-state public school players likely wanted interest from UVA for his DD because it’s a better academic in-state option. Why else would he have complained about it? When the love from UVA wasn’t there, he likely settled for JMU because he wanted in-state to save money (which explains why he’s bashing UVA recruiting and “way down” ranking of #18). How am I doin?

Merit is offered at ivies but the income threshold is very low.
That is not merit. That is need based.
I think this is a good point. The need based thresold is low, we typically think of HHI over 150K not getting AID but this is not the case based on my knowledge at Ivys, someone can correct me if I am wrong.
Also, can someone clarify. If you make too much for need based, couldn't you just have your adult kid be responsible for $$, therefore you should meet the need based easily?
Seriously... This doesn't work. They count the parents resources even if the kid is estranged or disowned.

Denver, JMU and Loyola are not even close to similar or better academically than the rest of the list including UVA
