I have dear friends named Barbara and Nancy. There were actually 2 Nancys in my sorority chapter.

My 8 year old with a very 80s name just told me she loves the name Jessica

At least it’s not Ava or Isabelle

I hope not. They're ugly names. Ugly names should be retired. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw Megan Trainor named her new baby BARRY.

If they bring back Krista/Kristen then we need to make a pact not to also bring back Kirsten and Kiersten. The dual popularity of these names in the 80s has led to a situation where fully 30% of the women I know have one of these names, but every variation, and it is very, very hard on those of us with mild dyslexia and/or "r" pronunciation issues, who screw this up pretty much every way we can. If this is going to be a popular name, you must choose between ri or ir or ier, but only one.

Sure, I will let all of the Scandinavians know to not use those names.

I know two little Barbaras! I also know an Agnes, a Nellie, and a Laurel, all under 6.

I always wonder whether Barbara, Linda and Nancy will ever come back. Obviously my mothers/MILs names. For our grandkids maybe?

Are you kidding? Eleanor has been in the top 10-20 girl names for years. Certainly not “underused” at all.

Quite worked up over the suggestion, imagine how you are when something matters.

Not worked up at all. You made that up. It’s just that your suggestion of an overused name on a thread asking for underused names doesn’t make sense.
