You’re right, his days as a king maker are over. But he can make big bucks catering to a smaller echo chamber. All these right wing apparatus losers just milk their audiences. Then they all “signal boost” each other’s content to make it seem like their audiences are multiple times bigger than they really are.
Tucker is independently wealthy. He wants to be the king maker. He isn’t anymore. Too bad, so sad.

He has an $8M or $9M parcel double parcel home/studio complex on the Gulf in Florida according to the Daily Mail photo op. It sounds and seems like this entire thing is Murdoch ruse. If Murdochs wanted him to be a nobody, all News Corp outlets would just ignore him. Instead they set up a photo op with him riding a golf cart? Tucker was a product of Fox. Fox is seen as republicans party/conservatives establishment platform. People watch it to get the official republicans/conservatives orthodoxy under the guise of a news organization. If tucker leaves Fox he is just another guy yelling for the kid to get off his lawn. There are a boatload of them and no one cares/follows.

Rupert Murdoch was asserting his dominance over Tucky who thought he was invincible. Stars always over estimate their power. Yeh, he’s getting millions of Twitter streams but it’s a different audience than Fox and who knows how many of those views are real vs. bots. He will continue to have some influence but it’s been hugely diminished, and he knows it. Eat sh!t little Tucky.
