Beefy servers for sure. Maybe there was bloat there. You know if it was a govt operation, it would be down for the next three months.

I have my doubts. There's a limit to the number of long form podcasts people can listen to in a day. Unlike Rogan (whom I really dislike) and others like him, I seriously doubt gen X Republican men think Carlson is the kind of person they'd want to have a beer with. He's a fake intellectual that talks to boomers and validates their worst fear. While I'm not a fan of Rogan, I've heard his podcast. He's constantly saying his a big dumb dude that doesn't know anything. He's obviously not dumb but he's not afraid of self deprecation. The idea that Carlson could ever come off as this approachable to a general audience is laughable. I doubt he'd ever call himself dumb in front of 20 million people.
You’re right, his days as a king maker are over. But he can make big bucks catering to a smaller echo chamber. All these right wing apparatus losers just milk their audiences. Then they all “signal boost” each other’s content to make it seem like their audiences are multiple times bigger than they really are.

Do you think that’s how communication works for conservatives? Long form podcasts only?

No, they fired him b/c his got over his skiis and extremely offensive comments about senior FNC execs will soon come to light + a former producer from his show is suing them for sexual harassment and that will bring yet another round of awful press coverage.
