Did you just jump out of the 1940s and arrive here? NYC is barely even the center of the USA anymore.

There is never enough federal money for border states. When migrants get injured or sick they go to local hospitals and those hospitals aren’t reimbursed. When migrants enroll their kids into school the state and local communities pay. There is no way the sales tax or unaccounted for social security tax is making up for medical and school bills.
Every migrant child Texas ships to NYC saves the state $ 10,000 a year (what it Texas pays to educate one student) and costs NYC over $20,000 (what NYC pays to educate a child). So Texas economically benefits from busing all the migrant children out of Texas.
Texas is causing the cost of dealing with them to double. NYC should sue them for the difference.
NYC can put them on a bus back to texas. They won't because nobody is illegal and migrants are welcome here

It's far from few apparently. Also he wants to make it legal for them to get jobs, so that he doesn't have to pay to house and feed them. He has been moving them from hotel to hotel from Manhattan to camp like facilities in outer boroughs on cheaper land to avoid tent cities sprouting. Family shelter system had been overflowing in NYC for a long time already, no place for immigrants. Police stations even in posh neighborhoods had been turned into processing centers and temporary housing. Allowing these people to make a living is a right thing IMHO, although I am not a supporter of illegal immigration. If they aren't going to deport them, the right thing to do is to have them earn their housing/food vs. create taxpayer issue and increase crime with so many young males from all over the world getting in.
Providing them with work permits would also allow them to vote in local elections if the law the progressives in NY are pushing gets passed. The law was struck down a year ago, but it is being appealed.
Good. We need to let the foreigners to vote and to decide what is best for US. New yorkers are so stupid.

Imagine what $1B would do to improve schools for our actual citizens paying taxes or for historically marginalized communities full of our citizens that could use one billion in business investment in their communities. 20% of all housing in NY is taken by migrants and the percentage keeps growing. That's 20% less housing for homeless American citizens on the streets of NY. Completely outrageous.

You think NYers will vote differently from how they always voted without the migrants? LOL. There is zero chance any republican candidate has a chance in NYC. Even despite De Blowsio disaster

This is exactly how you enable kidnapping and child rape.
The entire open border mess and untold thousands of unaccompanied minors coming in droves makes it way easier to do this at the point of entry without having to kidnap poorly supervised kids at time sq. It's a horror show
