Agree. SJP looks like many moms in my circle in that she's of similar age, fit and loves fashion. She's une jolie laide and I love her for it. And who cares if every single man on the plant doesn't love her. She's had plenty of hot, interesting, successful men and clearly doesn't need or want the approval of the entire male population.


I hope you're aware of the fact that calling someone a Jolie laide is not a term of endearment . It's what you do when you're too polite to call someone outright ugly . So, you embellish it with the Jolie —which means pretty/cute — in front and, the laide—which means ugly— immediately.

Exactly this. By insisting that sjp be seen as a paragon of beauty , her boosters are essentially telling on themselves. That they're even uglier than she is .

Exactly. They find a way to see what beauty is there. Not every woman is a backbiting hag in disguise. SJP has gorgeous eyes and her body is beautiful. Her stylist understands her frame impeccably.
