She might have been killed by that other guy. That’s what the police are looking into now.

That's my problem. He is a dirt bag and abusive, but that doesn't mean he killed her.

He winds her up by gaslighting her and telling her to calm down. She is crying and emotional but he appears to be calm and stable. It only escalates from there. He was probably telling her she was out of control and couldn’t drive and needed to go take a walk. She’s thinking she’s not out of control and wants HER car keys. Just bc she’s crying doesn’t mean she’s out of control.
I’m upset the police officers described her as manic. In the video she appeared to be scared and crying but answering questions just fine. When I hear someone being described as manic I think if that person running around, screaming and out of control.
I think he left her on the side of the road somewhere in the desert. He thought she’d eventually find her way out of it- walk to a town, a passerby would help. She got lost and died. I think she’ll be found not too far from a road, dead from exposure to the elements.
Yeah, no. He had her car and her phone. Dude did not leave her alive on the roadside. He knows she’s dead.
He knows now. But I think he wanted to teach her a lesson. Took her phone so she couldn’t call for help. Wanted her to “calm down and take a walk” like before. He went back later and she was gone.
No, sorry. I’m not sure why you’re so invested in him not having actually killed her, but that is by far the mostly likely explanation for all of this.
I’m not so invested in it. I don’t think there have been any prior records for him. None of her friends have come out and said he was abusive or even a dick, right? I think murdering her and then hiding her body is more far fetched then him leaving her on the side of the road and her getting lost. I think he was scared and trying to cover it up, absolutely. But I don’t think he murdered her in a fit of rage and then hid her body. Maybe he did though?

I'm willing to bet that 99 times out of 100 male troopers would ALWAYS say the woman more depressed, more crazy. Every time. This means ZERO to me.

Everybody wants to exonerate the white guy. He looks so nice/normal, right?

"This is an extremely difficult time for both the Petito family and the Laundrie family. I understand that a search has been organized for Miss Petito in or near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. On behalf of the Laundrie family, it is our hope that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that Miss Petito is re-united with her family. On the advice of counsel, the Laundrie family is remaining in the background at this juncture and will have no further comment."
Full Schmidt/Petito family statement:
The Schmidt and Petito family are going through the worst moments of their lives. Their beautiful twenty-two year old daughter is missing and the one person that can help find Gabby refuses to help.
The Schmidt and Petito family implore Brian to come forward and at least tell us if we are looking in the right area.
At this point, what difference does it really make?
I’m sure it makes a huge difference to the family. Better to know what has happened to her, even if it’s bad news, than to be left wondering forever.
But the point is:
- Brian is handsome
- he is his parents son
- he’s young and has his whole life ahead of him, and
- cooperating with the police won’t bring Miss Petitto back, but it’s almost certain to destroy Brian’s future.
