They helped him get a burner phone. So I think they had hopes for him to make a getaway.

I have always believed he was dead & am confident that these are his remains.
I never thought that he could have survived a month on the lamb.
No matter how experienced he was as an outdoorsman - a month living on the run would have been next to impossible to sustain.
