That article doesn’t say Tiffany’s husband isn’t wealthy. It just says the wealth comes from his mother’s family, not his dad.

A) Did Ivanka host it or did Marla? Because Marla is almost 60 at this point.
B) If Ivanka did host it...idk, I'm a millennial and my parents read me a lot of Beatrix Potter as a kid. So it's not weird to me that a millennial would like Beatrix Potter.

It would be really tacky for the expectant mom’s own family to host a baby shower.

Oh who cares. She's a married woman who works in Big Law and whose husband is loaded, it's fine for her mom to host.

1. Tiffany isn't working. In fact, there's no indication she ever passed the bar.
2. Her husband isn't loaded. His family's story about being wealthy was all made up. His father is a small-time truck salesman.

Ivanka hosted, as she made quite clear on her IG https://www.instagram.com/p/DIL5IrGuYoE/?img_index=1

Thank you for sharing that NYT article. I was one who had been fooled by the lies that Tiff's husband was rich. Wow, I fell for that.

This just shows how good to the Trump PR machine is. Tiffany doesn't work. Her husband is not loaded. My guess is daddy Trump put the billionaire story into the press just as he did with himself...He loves to feed lies to the media, and they eat it up.

Also why are all her suits a size too small? Surely a cabinet secretary has enough money to buy suits in the correct size.

With that said - shoot me now for thinking this: I kind of like her weirdo slightly western, slightly butch take on suitery. She needs a haircut, she needs a better fit, she needs an iron, she needs to lose that hot pink cargo suit, but this is odd and I sort of like it.

I think the pants size is fine. But I’d size up in the jacket. I can’t believe you asked why her suits are small - the better to show off her chest, obviously.

She doesn't read to me like someone with Noem's pathetic need to show off her boobs on every occasion. With this, looks to me more like she bought these then gained some weight and doesn't want to shop for anything new.

Unpopular opinion but Brooke Rollins is one of the few women in Trump world who are actually smart and accomplished. She has a really strong legal and public policy background. Kristi Noem is not smart. She was in college for four years before she got knocked up and dropped out without a degree...and she was nowhere close to getting one. After four years.

I think Brooke is confident and sure of herself whereas Kristi knows she's just white trash who lucked into all of this. She doesn't have the academic credentials to back her up hence the need to show off her goods.

There’s definitely something to be said for embracing your own bad taste and just wearing whatever hot pink crazy cargo pantsuit you want. It shows a sense of security in yourself and your own identity. Remember hero of the thread, Ivana Trump, RIP, and her comfy IDGAF sweatsuits?

Back when Ivanka was in the White House we all seemed to realize that she had no sense of self, and it was reflected in her clothes. Everything was a costume to reflect what she thought she needed to be for the occasion.

I think the above is due to her growing up with a narcissistic dad. She prob dressed to please him and never found herself. My theory is she went to therapy and/or Jared told her to establish some boundaries. Then, they stepped back and she started to put herself first while remaining distant from her dad.

Muahahah look at these psychos

That girl is so contoured she looks like an manga drawing.

It's crazy to look at yourself in the mirror and see that every day and still claim to be hot.

Republican women are bankrolling on the stereotype from the 90s that they were hotter and they just aren't anymore.

Um, this particular group doesn't represent typical, mainstream Republican women - in any way.

I think we need to stop making this excuse for them. Most "mainstream" Republican women are voting for Dems now.

Trump has been leading the Republican Party for almost ten years now. Ergo, Trump women are "mainstream" Republican women.

The point is that they don't look like that - nor do they WANT to look that way. This is a very tiny, specific group of people.

That’s not what they think. They think that they represent what is in right now — at least for young people.

I feel ashamed but I - and I’m a blue district never Republican woman - have a weird liking for Megyn Kelly. She’s hilarious sometimes, her pop culture takes can be amusing, and I passed her in Manhattan a year ago and she was stunning in person. Casual, $$$$ jeans and peacoat. Her face is very pretty and she doesn’t need her own (not 25 lb) extensions (I assume these are extensions)

I used to agree with you, and definitely still agree that she's pretty, but she has become completely intolerable for me. This is a woman who has literally said she will never believe a "Me Too" story even though she Me Too'd Roger Ailes...and said she wasn't originally going to speak up because she hated Gretchen Carlson. She is a confirmed anti-vaxxer and does nothing but screech and squawk into a microphone all day long. She used to be a serious journalist with a center-right slant and now she is just full on part of the outrage machine. It's sad.

It's not a real gift link, it's the short version you get of wapo articles if you're not a subscriber. Can you get the pics? I only see the headline photo. I want to confirm the lack of uggos. After all, an “objectively beautiful lifestyle” and an “objectively superior worldview” go hand in hand. (per the subheading)
