But you know how right wing commentators will interpret this: Trump took empty folders as "mementos" of his time in the White House. He never had the sensitive info in the first place. Never mind he did have some folders that were NOT empty, but I can just see that minor detail being completely overlooked.
Not this right wing commentator!
Why did Barr get involved with this hot mess in the first place? Ugh
He convinced himself that he could harness a quixotic, unprincipled authoritarian like Trump to advance his own views about the unconstrained powers of the presidency.
Well. Perhaps he realizes his thesis was wrong.
Barr stood by whilst Trump tried to shred democracy in myriad ways. He could have spoken out. He didn’t. Instead he advanced his view that presidential political interference in the prosecution and sentencing of Cohen, Flynn and Stone was entirely proper. He repeatedly handed Trump a get-out-of-jail card.
He also wasted millions and millions in tax payer money with the ridiculous Durham probe that, thus far, has resulted in MIchael Sussman being acquitted on a bunch of bogus charges.
+1 to both immediate pps. Barr knows what he did. He stood by and helped this nightmare happen, and he is smart enough to know what he was doing. I have no respect for him whatsoever.

No respect, yes. But at least he is trying to distance himself which is more than most republican scum will do.

And so far he helped tank the Mueller Report and Jeffrey Epstein (first hired by Barr’s father to teach at the Dalton School) was quietly dispatched, for just two big examples. He did his part.
