You didn’t read the article, which also says that Trump loyalists at DOD signed a secret memo to withdraw all Afghanistan troops on January 15. That would have been much worse.

That tidbit is, apparently, in Grisham’s memoir, so it’s not like a reporter broke the story.

The reporter did indeed break the story because the reporter got his hands on the yet-unreleased memoir before anybody else did.
