Yes, this. And please Nadia Bolz-Weber, either repent or just call yourself a UU and call it a day. Stop dragging your fake Jesus in the mud.
Jen and Beth Moore have that screech owl certainty that sure ain't from the Lord. John MacArthur was correct and loving to tell Beth to shut up.
How can you even compare Jen and Beth?! And John McArthur was so condescending and pious when he made that statement. Gross!
Geesh hasn’t Beth Moore taken heat for sticking to the Bible? I watched that video of MacArthur mocking Beth Moore and then all those southern Baptist leaders laughing in awkward agreement. It grieved the Spirit, and made me cry for all the godly Bible teachers watching her be dishonored so publicly. No doubt such cruelty has fueled some of Jen’s doubts and departure from conservative Christianity. But dang it Jen don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Stick to the Word upon which everything was built.

In 2020, 47% of Americans were identified as being members of a church. A good chunk of that 47% is as corrupt as homemade sin—clutching to their Trump autographed Bibles. The whole American version of Christianity has been reconstructed around politics, and not the other way around. It’s disingenuous to have a deconstruction conversation without recognizing that the church has shifted, seismically so, to be Christian nationalist. I don’t look to Jen for spiritual guidance, but I appreciate her voice in the conversation. Many people are leaving the faith altogether. Statically, many of us reading this will have children who become atheists. The American version of Christianity is not sustainable. Not because, “many are called and few are chosen,” but because we’ve used the Lord’s name in vain by politicizing all that is holy. Faith and politics aren’t unrelated, but faith that shifts for political gain is not the church’s best witness. What is viewed as conservative today, was at some point liberal. The Lutheran church, for example, 1st ordained women in 1970. So much of what’s being said about Jen, Sarah, Nadia, and Beth was being said about the liberal Lutheran’s back then. Fun fact from this old lady, I was raised to believe that Lutherans were going to hell because the woman led prayers and the acceptance of drinking alcohol. Times change. Jesus doesn’t. That takes a lot more reckoning than some of you are willing to face.
Like the pp said above, can we please take these boring comments somewhere else and stop clogging up the forum with long winded opinions that have nothing to do with whether or not Jen had a tummy tuck?

The conservative churches that stick close to the word are exploding in my area as well.
